Hi! A Question about our rental house in Indian Ridge. Has anyone stayed in this area? How is it? We rented direct from owner on Great Rentals? Has anyone had any problems renting direct? This is our first time and first time to Disney so I also need to know how far is Indian Ridge from Disney? We really wanted to stay onsite but couldnt afford it, so we had to go this route. Hope there are no problems. Also what is this place near? Shops eateries etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!
The great thing about booking with the owner,is the fact that you can ask them all of these questions.E-mail them as much as you need to to make the most of their experience and knowledge of their home and area.

Have a great holiday,
Lynn

Hi...we have lived in Indian Ridge for 3 months as snowbirds...we have owned rental homes in Emerald Island and I can tell you that your location is absolutely the best to get to Disney...You can totally avoid the traffic on 192 and fortunately have stayed away from the nighmare traffic on HWY 27...

Indian Ridge is an older developement built about 1989 to 1992 so the homes will be a little older but very nice...We have been in about 8 homes while here and they were all furnished nicely, not elegantly...but I"ll bet you also got a nice rate...great advantage to Indian Ridge is the gas heaters for the pools...all the new homes have electric heaters which shut off at 50 degrees in the winter...these just keep heating.

Master baths have a very nice walk in shower and most homes have a door from the bath to the pool...excellent idea!!!
Big community pool (not heated in winter)..tennis courts and great little walking paths that go behind a lot of houses...this community is about 50% owner occupied so will lots of kids and full time families around.

Now, to get to Disney listen carefully!

You will be on Lake Wilson Road when you exit Ind Ridge going north...as you approach 192 look for a left turn into Westgate Resort called WESTGATE BLVD...you will see the BIG entry sign only when going south or away from 192. You will need to learn the turn when coming from Indian Ridge because the main sign will face the other way...
turn left into the drive toward gate at Westgate...just before the gate you will have stop sign and turn RIGHT instead of going into Westgate...you are now on Entry Point Blvd...go straight to 192 and STRAIGHT across 192 onto Sherberth Rd....Follow Sherberth about 2 miles. It will turn a couple of times...look ahead and you will see the new Everest Ride and the off color green tree which is the Tree of Life in the Animal Kingdom....when you get to stop light, turn right on Osceola Parkway and follow the signs to all the parks and hotels...easy as pie!!!

To exit Disney follow the signs to Animal Kingdom. some of the signs will be small and you will take a very quick right turn. Then (very important) follow the last sign in Disney to Animal Kingdom LODGE not Animal Kingdom just before you would go into Animal Kingdom and you will be right back at the stop light at Sherberth...turn left all the way back to 192...go straight through to the Westgate entrance...go left around the little circle and back out to Lake Wilson and turn right...2 minutes and you are back at Indian Ridge....this shortcut will save you 20 minutes of hassel on 192...Good Luck...I think you have made a great choice...

I think you will be very happy with Indian Ridge

Thank you so much for the info and directions. They will come in very helpful and it looks like will save a lot of time. This is our first time to Disney and I want everything to be "magical". Especially since we could not stay on Disney property. I am glad to know this is a nice area. I was worried about that, and also renting directly from owners. Never tried it before. Thanks again Lots of Help and I really appreciate it.
