Anyone Remember Underoos???

This morning on the Today show they had a segment on about reviving old brands....one of the old products they mentioned was Underoos!!! I absolutely loved Underoos. My favorite ones were my Josie and the Pussycats set and Batgirl, because they both had "bras" instead of undershirts which made me feel so grown up in 1st grade!!!!

Anyone else have any fond underoo memories???

The Today show showed the old commercial....I had forgotten they had a theme song!

I had some...I think they were Supergirl or something. I also had a Smurfs set of panties and "bra" but I don't know if they were actual underoos.

My brother had a few sets...Superman was one and I think Batman. He also had these undies with little green army men all over them. He's 3 1/2 years younger than I am, so I clearly remember his army men underpants and to this day they make me giggle.

I had some too! I loved my underroos!! I remember I had Wonder woman and Josie and the Pussycats. (I use to love that cartoon!) I loved the packaging too because it was like buying a record!LOL

A co-worker of mine tells a very funny story that involves Underoos... He was playing a little league game when he was in around 12 years old. A friend was pitching and got nailed in the thigh with a line drive. The kids went down hard crying. His coach ran to his aid, and more concerned about his well-being then his privacy, pulled down the pitcher's baseball pants on the mound to look at where the ball hit him. To the horror of his teammates, the pitcher was shown to be wearing Batman Underoos... it was an event that he never lived down in school!!! Scarred for life!

Wonder Woman here, too! However, I secretly liked my Batgirl ones better because they came with a short top, like a bra. I though they were more "mature". Why on earth would I look FORWARD to wearing a bra?!?

I think they may be bringing them back, the segment was about old brands that a new company wants to bring back like Underoos and freshen up gum...the one that "squirted" when you bit into it.

I hope they bring the underoos back, I am sure my kids would love 'em!

That cracked me up because that was so true ....at age 8 I thought wearing a bra was so cool....just like I thought it would be so exciting to get my period!!!! I blame that on Judy Blume and that book, "Are You There God, It's Me Margret?" How confused were we????

Oh wait I remember now that they DO sell underoos!! I bought my son a Spiderman pair I think it was at Target?? I have not seen any of the girl ones though.

Yeah Judy Blume screwed up our perspective a bit I think.
