Yup, 3 weeks is what we were told also, so we should start seeing some folks get theirs this week...keep us posted folks, enquiring minds want to know!
The special DME luggage tags will be sent out 2-3 weeks prior to your arrival. If you booked through a travel agent it may take a little longer because they will be sent to the travel agent rather than sent directly to you, and then it is up to the travel agent to get them to you.
It makes no difference which airline you're using. The only difference in airlines has to do with luggage handling and check-in on your RETURN flight. Everyone who's staying at a WDW resort who flies into MCO is eligible to use DME.
I received our luggage tags on Saturday. Our trip is not till May 14-21 but they only sent one per person and I think I am going to call them and see if I can get an extra one just incase I need to check an extra bag.

chatterbox ....did they send instructions?
I am wondering what to do when I get to the airport.....do I check in at Continental like usual...and then they handle the bags?? or do I take my bads somewhere else?
In the packet I received it says I will receive an Airport Transprtation Booklet 21 days prior but other than that, all I received was the tags and a letter with all of our confirmation stuff on it. From What I was told that we check our luggage at the departing airport and then when we arrive at Orlando we go catch our shuttle and they will get our bags for us and they will be taken to the hotel so once we check our bags we wont see them till we get to our room.
Chatterbox....are you booked on a package? (with room, tickets etc?) you might of recieved all your paperwork from Disney and not the actully stuff from Magical Express yet. What do your luggage tags look like? I believe the ones I got last time have Tinkerbell on them. This might explain why you got something with 33 days to go. Did you just pay off your balance?
I leave on May 13 and have not seen anything yet.
But I am waiting for the mailman everyday......
The luggage tags that people said they've already received are not DME luggage tags, they're just the regular complimentary luggage tags that WDW sends out.
When your DME luggage tags are sent to you, you will receive TWO PER PERSON.
Yes you are right those are the luggage tags I received they have tinkerbell on them and yes I am booked on a package I didnt realize I would receive tags when I paid off my package. Sorry about the confusion I guess I need to just wait a little bit longer to get the correct tags. Sorry about that.

I was told that we'd receive two tag for each person registered on ME. There are four of us (three + an infant) so I was expecting at least six tags. We're taking a stroller so three tags isn't going to be enough
Thanks Chatterbox for clearing that up...all of us nice folks on DIS understand your excitment with receiving luggage tags and you did not know you would be getting more.....watch for the mailman in a about 10 days.
Regarding DME luggage tags: When the CM took our airline info, she asked what the flight # was where we would be arriving from and I told her the number of the leg of the flight arriving from Memphis (even though we are originating out of SA). Now that I think about it, I'm not so sure that was the right info to give her. Should I have given her our SA flight #??
(I'm sure this is a very simple process and I'm making it sooo hard)

RELAX. All that matters is that they know to look for it from the plane you land in at MCO. They don't give a hoot where else those suitcases have been. All that matters to them is the airline name and flight # of the plane that flies into MCO.
