Anyone really sweating the local elections?

I am hoping and praying our county judge and sheriff's elections go our way.

I usually vote Dem in the locals and Repub. in the nationals. Weird, I know.

I'm much more worried about the school levy than who wins the presidential race. My younger daughter is very smart, and will be attending HS next year--and if the levy fails, no honors classes (or jv/frosh sports, or musicals, or plays). I don't know if we can afford private school!

Watching at least one proposition here in California.

Speaking on school bonds, taxes or whatever - looks like we'll have a mail-in-only special election in the Spring - just for the schools. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.

My job is dependent on a local election. I hate politics! I can hardly wait til it's over so I'll know.

We are voting on a new library that I don't think we need right now. We have a top floor in the one we have that is going unused. We are a small town and there are so many people struggling right now that I don't think we should even consider raising taxes right now.

I'm closely watching a local state senate race. The woman that should have been on the ticket was rail roaded by backdoor good ole boy system and I don't want to stand for it. I was out for the last month asking everyone to write her in. It wouldnt have mattered to me if I liked her or not it was the pure point of the democratic process.

Sadly, I'm afraid Amendment 2 in Florida will pass. This will limit the rights of couples to only those couples in a traditional man/woman marriage. Sad day.

The vote on Amendment 2 is just making me sick. I have been lucky enough to be married to a wonderful person for 25 years. I just don't understand how someone could deny someone else that right.
