We had the call from our sales lady and said if you are one of the 1st 1000 families to buy in you get your name on a plaque as a founding memeber. I wondered if we had any here yet?

While the purchase won't technically occur until Sunday, we gave all our info for our downpayment, so we should be a founding member.

I hope there's still plaques available when they finally get around to selling to the general public :goodvibes The plaque is actually a very neat idea, we were never able to do the leave a legacy tile in Epcot. We think of the plaque as a small incentive! Being a founding member would be pretty cool.

For those that bought, what is the price per point, and do they offer incentives?

$5 off per point for purchases 100 or over, and dues will be the cheapest of all DVCs at $3.19 per point.

$3.6709 per point Maintenance Fees.

$5 off per point on purchases 100 points or more ($112-$5=$107)

Founding member status if in first 1000 families to purchase 160 points or more ( name on placque by fountain ).

Not nearly as expensive as orignally rumored.

Guide hasn't called yet, said we were on her list as recently as three weeks ago. :confused3

Not that we are ready to spring for that much money just yet, DH will only do it if we can pay it up front, no financing. We are already members, but 100 points probably won't be enough. Trying to figure out best way..., otherwise hope this is still available in the spring, and that my company still pays a bonus then....

How did everyone find out about becoming founding members? We asked our guide to contact us when the announcement was made, but we have heard nothing from him.

Since official announcement Tuesday morning (9/16) guides have been inundated with calls re BLT. If you do want to be a founding member don't depend on guide calling you but make the call to DVC yourself.

Officially presale to current DVC members begins Sunday but you can call in advance to give your credit card info etc & if you are purchasing 160 points and still within the first 1,000 families purchasing then you will be a founding member.

Talked to our guide today. Plan to start paper work for 200 point BLT add-on tomorrow.:goodvibes

We already own SSR and AKL - what's the smallest amount of BLT points we could buy?

This may be a dumb question, but I am curious. What does being a 'founding member' give you? I know that for BLT they are saying you get your name on a plaque, which is cool, but is there any other perk to be a founding member at a resort?

Just curious....

25 and 50 points if you want to finance through Disney

Thanks... That is what I thought, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. :)

I guess my question was - how did folks know about the possibility of being a founding member to know to call? Maybe it's because I'm a DVC newbie, but I didn't know Founding Members existed.
