Anyone planning for 2014??

I am taking my oldest DD for a trip to celebrate graduating High School. Really we will be going during Spring Break or over Presidents weekend, some time that she will not have to miss much school if any. It will be a short trip for us too, about 5 or 6 days. But we are looking forward to going, just the two of us +- a couple of her friends. :lmao:

We have another trip before than though starting April 29th and staying until May 7th! Then we are also planning (really just I am) a trip for 2015 Food and Wine/MVMCP time frame. Thank goodness I have the boards that have like minded people. :goodvibes

We'll be returning to the World in 2014. Right now, 10 of us are in for sure. Could be 4-7 more, we'll see. Most, if not all, of us will be driving down from Cleveland, OH. Plan to leave on Feb 28th and drive all,the way to Orlando or close to it, and stay offsite. Check in to Disney the morning of March 1st, 2014...my DD's 10th birthday!! I know the 4 of us,and also my sister and her then-husband (wedding date is July 6th!), will be at the Polynesian. This will be our 5th stay there, can't imagine anywhere else!

Oh, don't start a thread, yet!! This one is soooo slow, and we don't know our dates yet. I won't have anyone to whine about how long it is until my trip if you leave, lol!

You're right - this thread is slow! I figured I'd wait around to start the Nov. '14 thread just to see and yeah, I need to wait a little while longer. :teeth:

So does anyone else have their dates in stone yet? I have our dates, know when we can reserve and when we can make ADRs (assuming, of course, that WDW doesn't change things between now and then). I'm driving my husband crazy trying to talk him into a quick trip in '13, but I think that's gonna be a no-go. :(

We don't have our exact dates yet...sometime between the last week in May and the first week/10 days into June. I need to see how Memorial Day will affect the crowds. Also waiting for the school calendar and if I'll be back at work teaching or not. I am also trying to talk my DH into a quick trip in 2013! I would love to see everything decorated for the holidays again! But he is firmly standing his ground. He loved the decorations, too, so my new hope is that after our May/June trip we can book a bounceback for sometime in December 2014.

I'm planning a late October early November trip! My plan is to go to both MNSSHP and MVMCP. And November 9th is also my mom's birthday and she's turning 70 so we totally need to commemorate that.

Resorts - Beach Club or Contemporary.

Time frame - October 30th to November 14th.

We have about the same time frame as I'm hoping it works out to attend both parties as well :)

Since we'll be going more towards mid-month, we'll miss MNSSHP, but we're definitely considering doing MVMCP. Has anyone here who has been tell me what you thought?

We also want to do DHS and the Osbourne Lights, which we've never seen. I was showing my husband some of the pictures here from the holidays and he was amazed at the castle and decorations. I didn't show him the lights at DHS on purpose - I want that to be a surprise. :teeth:

We had to bump back our trip from next year to July 2014. Like some posters here we are consoled by the fact that New FantasyLand will be ready and seasoned...

Looks like I'll be going in January 2014:cool1: Very excited because we are only go for 2 nights in 2013 and by the time we go, it'll be two years since our last week long trip. That is the longest I have ever gone without going to Disney for a full week! I am going to be having serious withdrawals!

Right now the plan is to fly down December 30, 2013 and be in Disney for New Year's Eve, which is a dream of mine. We then want to spend the week following New Year's Day in Disney. Hopefully the crowds will be cleared out then! We have been that week before and it was pretty quiet. Looking forward to going at that time again!

That makes me pretty happy, too. Hopefully all the cranes and equipment will be gone and I can finally get some good pictures. :p

Let's all hope they have this website mess figured out before it's time for any of us to book. :headache:

Hi there! :goodvibes

I'm planning a vacation to WDW for the second and third week of May 2014 for my friend and I. It'll be special because we're only online/snail mail pen pals and to finally meet and experience Disney together will be just wonderful. It'll be her first Disney vacation, and my fifth or sixth. Hoping for a good discount... planning AoA LM room... 7 nights/6 day park tickets...

Hoping the Mine Coaster is up, too! :)

Nice to meet everyone - I'm Angel.

How fun to meet IRL at WDW!

we just returned from a 6night/7day Chritmas trip w/FD. So, after a few issues this trip, we are planning our next trip for Dec. 2014! A bit exciting as we will be celebrating our 20th anniv. and DH birthday(as usual) Only difference, we will be one less in the kids department-oldest graduates from HS this spring. now, do we do my favorite and go with PO(we will only need 1 room!) or splurge for deluxe,...cant wait til we are able to actually lock in our reservations!

angelmichelle, your trip sounds like so much fun! :yay: I bet both of you can't wait!

jimjenkids - 20th anniversary AND birthday AND you're going during Christmas? That's a whole lot of celebrating going on! :hyper: What issues did you have this trip, if you don't mind my asking?

----------------

WAHOOO! I can finally say we're going NEXT YEAR!

I thought I had narrowed our resort down to POR. I was pretty much set on it, 100%. My husband reminded me how much we loved SSR - not only the resort, but the amount of space we had. So then I started thinking about it and now I'm not so sure I can go back to staying in one room again.

:confused3 I don't know. I've been looking into some places off-site that I'm considering heavily. Lots of time to plan and decide. ::yes::

Glad to know I'm not the only one planning for 2014! This past December we experienced Christmas in Disney for the first time and celebrated my daughter's 4th birthday while there. We had a great time and I'm ready to go back now! ::yes::

The only problem is that my family gets "Disney'd" out and needs a break. Every other year seems to be the sweet spot for getting them all excited again.

There's always so much talk about MNSSHP that I decided that we'll go in October 2014. Added bonus is that my oldest has a birthday on Oct 16 and while she won't do the whole trip with us (will be a sophomore in college), I'm thinking to arrange to have her fly down on a Friday for the weekend and we can all go out to a nice dinner.

So, yeah, SUPER excited that I at least have dates in mind. Don't know how I'm going to make it till then for my next Disney fix. :faint: I'm almost thinking about doing a solo mini-trip this year to tide me over!

Me! I am hoping to go in May 2014 :) We will prob go right before school lets out and right before Memorial Day. Our anniversary is the 27th of May and we've already spent 1 there lol but looking forward to another.

We were there in May 09 and it rained and rained, but the crowds really weren't that bad compared to what I thought. I know a lot of people here seemed to be canceling their trips due to the rain, but it worked in our favor:thumbsup2

We hope to stay at AoA in a Lion King or Nemo suite :)

Hubby and I are also hoping for a Disney Anniversary Cruise in 2020 for our 20 yr :)

I knew this thread would start picking up after New Year's. ::yes:: Look at some of us sporting our tickers already!

Anyone else considering staying off-site? I never thought we would after we stayed at POP in 2011, but after staying at SSR last time with the amount of room we had ... well, let's just say I am definitely considering it now. :scratchin For everything we want (full kitchen, separate living area, etc.), I'm finding it is cheaper than an on-site stay, even factoring in car rental, parking, etc.

We've stayed off-site before, mostly with family. We did stay at the Caribe Royale on our honeymoon, however, and I was not impressed. :crazy2: That was many years ago, though.

Thoughts, opinions? :confused3

We've always stayed off-site because, as a family of 6, it's been the most affordable option. Not to mention, we've been able to book under my Dad's timeshare and have paid anywhere from $250-700 for our stays.

This past year, we'd plan to book Bonnet Creek until my Dad told us about a $199 offer to stay at Holiday Inn at Orange Lake ($500+ savings). Needs to say, we booked that! BUT, we did drive pass Bonnet Creek (on the way to DTD one night) and it looked really nice. I think we might want to give it a try in 2014.

Until I can find comfortable accommodations for our large family that will come under $1000, we'll be off-site. It would be nice to experience on-site at least once though. Perhaps when my oldest 2 are adults and I just have to worry about lodging for my two youngest children.
