I was looking at trading my Macbook for an iMac but the Mac mini cost less. Can anyone give me some pros/cons on the mini?

1st off you would need a display unless you use the HDMI port to an HDTV.
Also the Mac mini doesnt have an optical drive for discs.

The Mac mini doesn't come with a keyboard and monitor. Did you factor that into the cost?
If so, I would go with the mini and get a larger monitor than the iMac. But that's just me.

thanks i did not think of this.

We are on our second Mac Mini. Yes, it does to come with a keyboard, mouse, or monitor. When we got our first one, we just hocked it up to the monitor of the computer that it was replacing. We now have it hooked up to a flats screen television that we were not using. We use and old apple wireless keyboard and mouse that was from three computers ago ( at least 8 yrs old)

Our mini does have a cd/DVD drive in it, but it is a couple of years old so that may have changed. We never use the drive though. I can't think of the last time I bought software that came on a disc. I download everything. Files are transferred on a flash drive if necessary, but with the Cloud there isn't much need even for a flash drive.
