Anyone own a icing printer?

I was thinking about buying a printer for making edible images for cakes and cookies. I was just wondering if anyone has one or knows anyone with one so I could get some feedback! I want to use it for work so that I can have awesome cakes! It is so expensive to buy them because the edible image costs a lot!

My DH's cousin owns a couple of Carvels and he has one. All I can tell you is he calls the thing "amazing" easy to use and worth every penny. The one he has can print any photo a customer brings in.

I used to work with a lady who had something like this, but it was about 3 years ago. She didn't have a special printer. She just used special, edible printer ink. She did, of course, have to devote a printer to nothing but edible ink. But it really wasn't that expensive since printers are pretty cheap now.

I know quite a few women that bought the Canon printers and used the edible ink with the icing sheets. Most of them gave up after a while. The ink clogged in the printers, it was hard getting the icing sheets to feed through the printers.

Before you invest the money in one call your local bakeries and see if they will print an image for you for a small fee. I have a local (chain) grocery store that will print an image for $5. without buying a cake.
