Anyone own a 2010 Toyota Camry?

Does anyone have any experience with Toyota Camrys? I test drove a 2010 basic model today. It was a 4 cynlinder. I liked it and will go back on Tuesday to talk financing.

BUT once I got into my car (a Chrysler 300) I felt like the Camry was lacking that "umph" factor.

I want to purchase a new car to lower my car payment and to save on gas.

Any suggestions or comments on your Toyota?

I have one. I bought it in 2009 (one of the first 2010's in dealership). I have about 30,000 miles on it- I bought it brand new. I paid cash for it when the Cash for clunkers program was going on so I had no payments.

I have had two fairly major recalls on it- one had to do with the floor and pedals and the other had to do with new floor mats so they didn't jam under the pedals.

It is a very reliable car. I have the metallic gray- which was lovely- but it gets scratched up like something fierce.

The hubcaps just fly off this car. I had a set get removed from my car (ok stolen) and I get them replaced. My replacement hubcaps just fall off my car. I wish they were more secure.

That being said, it is a decent car. My teenage son learned to drive in it and he feels safe. My son is also 6 foot 3 and can be comfortable in the car. I like the radio buttons on the steering wheel.

I like the fact that I can go a long time without getting gas- I can go about 325 miles. I don't drive far for work so this takes about 2 weeks for another tank.

If I had payments on it, I'd be a bit discouraged by it. Since it is paid for, I don't have any "real" issues with it.

You can't even compare the Chrysler to the Toyota. I rented the Chrysler 300 in June and it reacted the same way all our Chryslers did. Lousy transmission. I had the Toyota 2010 for a month when all the gas pedal issue were recalls. Although I had a 1999 Camry, I returned it. I have a Volkeswagon Passat. This year alone I put on 25,000 miles and it is a reliable Gem! By this time, my 1999 Camry had three services for air fuel issue, there three of these, like air exchange and continued to have he idiot lights on until I replaced all three.

The exhaust system, doing it ourself, just parts was $1,000. When I asked a few mechanics while working what they would recommend their mother, they told me the Passat! Reason, they never come in for repairs.

To note, our Chrysler cars, same issue, same tranny, replaced 2 in the Challenger, 4 in the mini van. They were used, as soon as they got over 75,000 miles lost gears. From the irate year dealer replaced the gears and following year tranny rebuilt. My boss had the same minivan nd same issues.

Got a 2012 Camry, traded in a 2006 RAV4. Camry has a nice smooth ride, I feel like it has as much get up and go as my RAV4. Excellent on gas.

I also got the dark grey-gunmetal. Yes, it does scratch up easily. Beautiful color but will never get it again.

I had 3 different Camrys over the years and loved them and thought I would never drive any other car. I traded my 2007 Camry for a 2010 Fusion and never looked back. I had to rent a 2010 Camry and was surprised how disappointed in it I was. It just felt cheap. The doors were tinny sounding and I felt the interior was cheap feeling.

Camry owner here. I have a 2007 - almost 200,000 miles on it

Now, if your looking for comfort Toyota's don't get a good grade on that. If you're looking to hold onto this car for a while then this is the car. They are very reliable and last forever.

My sister has an older Camry with just shy of 300,000 miles. Yeah, their good cars!

I don't have a '10, but have a '07 Camry. Just got it this summer when my '99 Grand Am died. Got it in the dealership's Certified Pre-Owned program... the original owner bought it in late '06, and traded in for a new '12 Camry. It drives really well, and has plenty of get-up-and-go, considering it's a 4-cyl. Doesn't hug curves like the G.A. did (that was fun ), but it is a solid ride and I'm very happy with it. I think it's the mid-level model, with cruise control. Seems comfy to us, at least 3x more leg room than Dad's Ford Crown Victoria, and a huge trunk you could pack for a family's 2-week vaca to WDW!!!

And I can share other thoughts on Toyota quality... We have a second-hand '98 Toyota Avalon with 130k miles (was my elderly aunt's... it's just now getting broken in), MIL's Corolla had +380k when a collision with a deer totalled it, and DH's '92 Toyota truck passed 500,000 miles in May. Can't say enough about Toyota's longevity! Only reason I had a Pontiac is that I bought it before I knew my DH!!!

It is a huge gas tank, so the cost startled me the first time I filled it. But I get really decent mileage, 23-25mpg in city driving.
