Anyone only going this fall IF they get a discount?

We will take a trip if we get a discount. No discount, not going. Anyone else?

I'm going regardless in Sept/Oct. Already have airfare. I did book with a measly 10% AAA discount, but if something better comes out, I'll just upgrade my resort.

I just book what I can afford if I want to go and a discount is icing on the cake if it comes. :goodvibes

Right now I am booked but if things don't work out I am switching to Universal. If Disney does not offer any discount Universal is actually a better deal with the meal plan as well as having the express pass for staying onsite.

Once we decide when we want to go such as this Fall for F&W Festival we start looking for our flights to help narrow down our exact dates and if we should be lucky enough to come upon a discount Great! If not we will still go.

I was lucky this year not having to play the discount waiting game with Disney by booking a TA exclusive months ago

We will still go to Walt Disney World regardless. However if there's no fall discount we will cancel our reservation on site and stay offsite at a condo that my husband has access to. I absolutely cannot justify paying full price for all the things at Disney. Bad enough they keep raising the prices on tickets. There's nothing I can do about that I can at least control how much I pay for my lodging :-)

Thats us as well.

We have been to Disney many times so if they don't offer Free Dining for January then we will just purchase the Orlando Flex Pass and stay at the Darkside (HRH) for the full vacation.

If they do have Free Dining then we will keep with our plans and do a split stay.

We have been to Disney many times and not much has changed since our last visit so the discount is the only thing that is really making us go back in January.

Its not that we "can't" afford to go without Free Dining because the $ is not an issue. Its more of an "Oh they are offering free dining lets take advantage of it" sort of thing.

I would never go without a discount. Kudos to those that will. They must really love WDW. I don't think "no discounts" is something you have to worry about. We have been going for 5 years there has always been discounts. They have way overpriced their rooms. There is no way they are going to sell them without discounts. Just because a few people on these boards say they will go without them it doesn't really represent the masses.

Just be patient the discounts will come just like they always do.

We are booked to go in September with Free Dining. Will switch to December if FD is offered then. If not, we will keep our plans to go in September.

We would not be going in September if FD was not offered. I go where the discounts are, lol!

This is my family too. We will just stay off-site (as we have in the past) and I will cancel about half of my (10) ADRs. I hate it because I am hoping this will be our first on-site stay but I am not going in to debt for our vacation! Actually, I am the only one in my family that wants to stay on-site. Everyone else prefers the space and private pool we get by staying in a rental home (for about 1/3 the price of the moderate I want to stay in).

Since we only go every three years, we will be going with or without discount.

We tend to spend more in parks for dinning and shopping when we get a discount.

We just went in May and purchased APs with plans to return next April May again with the whole family. But I've been pushing for DH to let me and our then 5 year old take a trip in November for a few days. But I need some sort of discount or he will never go for it.

I'm just bummed because to get a good rate on flights you need to book early but the Disney discounts come out sO late so I'm not sure what's going to happen I the end.

I am similar with my solo trip. I am still going - discount or not. HOWEVER, I am booked at a moderate for early December, but I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, want to be booked at a Beach Club or Boardwalk studio villa. I absolutely cannot justify the full cost of the deluxe unless I have the discount.

Yes I agree about how late the discounts come out. I had to take advantage of a great flight for November but Disney has yet to release any promos for fall. It's very frustrating. Many destinations already have some kind of fall promo going on. I don't get why Disney waits so long.

My sister and her family booked for early October way back in March when they got a great deal on airfare. She was lucky and got a pin in May. If they didn't get a pin they would still be waiting and hoping as well.

We will go regardless, but with no discount we will cut back on nice meals and extras. Also, we too would really like to upgrade to a deluxe this time, but won't without a discount of some kind.

We will be there Oct. 26- Nov 1
Booked with a free dining pin but plan to switch to a room only code...if...I mean when the room only discount comes out
I don't think we've missed a Food and Wine yet

We won't go without a discount, but luckily we are flexible in our travel dates. We are tentatively planning to go during Sept free dining, but if we miss that then we will wait for the next discount. We would also consider doing the Homeschool Days discount with a discounted onsite or DTD hotel, however free dining does save us more money (it costs a LOT to feed all of us at Disney LOL)!

I am there with you !!!
I got 3 Free Dining Pins, but we tried Free Dining once in the past & it just does not work for us, we usually only eat one large meal daily while there & it just did not work for us. I sure wish I could have given it to all the folks wanting one.

We are also holding out for a Room Only Discount PIN, if we don't get one, we will just use the flight we booked with Southwest for a Loews Miami Beach vacation instead. :beach:
