Anyone not interested in 2054?

I'll be 85 in 2042 and since we have no children I don't see the point in adding on additional years. We'll just enjoy the time we have until 2042 and then come up with a plan at that point if we are still able to travel.

I'll be 85 in 2042, DH will be 86. I think I'll let DD#1, who will be 66, or DD#2 who will be 58 pay for any more years if they wish too!

I'll be 78 in 2042. Kids will be btwn 47 and 51. They might have kids (I doubt grandkids) by then. By 2054, they might even have grandkids. Not compelling enough to make me want to pay an extension now.

So, what will happen for those who buy SS? I assume they'll trade with the current resorts, but what about in 2043? Seems like the legal documents might give some clue as to what plans are for all resorts. Should be interesting.

Nope - for my money, I'd buy more points at BWV and worry about extensions later or not at all!

Heck no. I'll be 90 in 2054. No way I'll be worrying about it then.

I am one of the odd ones who LIKES the location of SSR, but I can use my BCV points to stay there when I want to.

I understand that most of us don't care about the extra years when we consider how old we'll be by then, BUT...
You have to admit that as time goes on, the contracts that end in 2054 will have a better resale value. I know, I know. None of us would even consider selling our DVC but what if your financial situation takes a turn for the worse or your health doesn't permit traveling as much.
Just something to think about and I can see why some people who just bought BCV are having mixed feelings about this!

I think that people on the discussion boards over emphasis on two things 1) The ending date 2042 2) Home resort.

In 2042 I will be 61 years old. I just hope that I will make it that far with out going belly up.

Home resorts to me are not important. I own at Hilton Head but I have never even stayed there. I have been able to book any size room at whatever resort I have ever desired to stay at.

I think because of where SS is located - it won't have the resale value of BCV or BWV - you can walk to EPcot and/or Studios from these resorts - SS is too much like OKW (with smaller rooms) - and OKW has always lacked behind the Epcot resort in resale value.

So even with the extra years - I can't see that making that much different - until we get a whole lot closer to 2042 - maybe in 2032 - it might.

there are plenty of timeshares in Mexico (I think) that are only for 20 years - they have no problem selling them - DVC is a good buy for me.

just depends upon which means the most to you being closer or having more time - I think the majority would say being closer.

now if they are going to market it to younger adults who can and do party all night......I might be wrong - but who knows.

NOPE!!!...Dh will be 82 and I will be a spring chicken of 77....while I think I'll still love visiting disney I don't think I want to be locked in for another 12 years...

Well, maybe all you guys will be packing it in, but I'll be 89 in 2042 and still riding Rock N Roller Coaster! LOL

When we bought in 3 1/2 years ago, we figured DH will be a crotchedy 94 and I'll be a still young at heart 89. We will be happy to turn the deed over to DD long before then (we are thinking in 20 years) so she can plan trips with her grandkids and invite us along instead of vice versa.

We do plan to ask DD if she wants to pay for the extension so her grown kids and grand-kids can continue to enjoy.
