Yup, mayor of a town of 7,000. Bet is was a part time gig. And ran Alaska? Please. My grandmother could run Alaska.

Face it, she's nothing. But McCain supporters would endorse a block of cheese for VP if he put his name on it.

Mayor and governor are 2 more leadership experiences than Biden has.

Maybe you think your grandmother could run Alaska. I thought my grandmother could walk on water. Thinking doesn't make it fact.

biggest state is size....3rd smallest in population.

Obama hasn't even governed a state with that sized population. No experience=Nobama

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I've got you beat....I've been President, secretary and all around kicked in the behind for 8 years and now currently feed 125 band members on a regular basis.....so I'll be Prez and you can be VP.

(the other stuff we'll just bribe to make sure it gets on our resumes:rotfl: )

WOW! you too already have more executive experience than BO!

Are you kidding me?..........I can't believe you wrote that. I also HAVE a brother who is Down's. These children and adults are so loving and giving. I could go on but, I just can't believe you have so little insight.. :sad2: I guess you feel that way about all children who have mothers that work....since you think they are incapable of nuturing their children AND holding a job. This is important for all children and not just in the first few months of life.
I’m sorry but I make no apologies. My mother was a working mother and unless I win the lottery I’ll be one too, but at THREE days old I would NEVER leave my child to go to work. How about his feedings? How about the “little issue” that the only bond a newborn has is with his mother?
IMHO three days is too soon to go back to work unless your child's well being will be hampered (STRONG economic reasons).

Hey I was 1st VP, 2nd VP and cultural arts chairperson.... you got me on the feeding the band...
but I am a Hockey mom!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

OK we can share a ticket.....

There's not one Hillary supporter in my department at work who can be wooed over to McCain with his choice of Palin. They're all on team Obama/Biden now. :thumbsup2

I wasn't impressed by Palin. I found that she didn't really know what she was doing (deer in the headlights look) and that McCain couldn't get away from her. I don't know. If McCain has a heart attack in office (which is a possibility- he is 72 years old) I shudder to think of Palin taking over the presidency. She seems to have no specific qualifications for presidency. That's just my opinion.

Look at it another way. You get inexperience right off the bat with Obama.
With McCain at least you have experience and qualification right off the bat.

I just saw a clip of her speech. I'm still trying to figure out the choice.

[/B]

Did you ever think that maybe she went back to work so fast because she is the bread winner in the family and needed to work to support her family?

Its funny, if she was a dem, she would be praised as a Hard working dedicated mother.

Please stop

I know single mothers with minimum wage jobs, and no savings, who haven't gone back to work that soon.

3 DAYS:sad2:

(I'm only in the 3rd year of an 8 year sentence as marching band mom...if I get to be prez does that mean I can abdicate that?? )

Listen, you stop. She gave birth to a baby after she knew it was going to have physical and mental disabilities. And said she would love that baby no matter what. If you are trying to shoot down that she is a strong family person and does not care for her children, it just won't fly.

I was telecommuting 48 hours after I delivered...I had unresolved issues and they had to be led to a point where they were manageable. That's what resposible people do. It didn't endanger me or my child, I delivered early, I logged on, tied up loose ends and then started my leave (which didn't mean that I was unconnected to work during my leave, just less so). Had I been physically closer to work I may have gone in. In my mind that's a non issue.

I will admit that this lifetime Democrat got excited about politics for the first time since Clinton ran....Bill Clinton. As I've aged, I've gotten progressively more conservative and am now a pretty conservative Democrat. Neither Obama or McCain excited me. She does. She seems like a real person, not a lifetime politician/lawyer.

Here again, you're identifying with her choices. You agree with them, I don't.

I am glad you're excited about politics. I have to admit I am excited to watch the VP debates now, too. :)

What's more important to Palin? Her child, or her job? From her actions, her job. HER action deserves criticism because she is running in a political party that loves to talk about how they support "family values" while cutting social services, disagreeing with FMLA, and supporting various other family UNfriendly, business-centered legislation.

Small point here. This child has two parents. Something tells me this wouldn't even be an issue if it were Mr Palin on the ticket.

How do you supposed people who run large businesses get their experience? Oh wait, they pluck them off the "experienced to run a large business tree", which is right next to the "money tree".

uhhh... is this a trick question?

Maybe they spend years working up the ladder gaining more experience and knowledge of what it takes to run a large corporation? :confused3

Here again, men don't actually go through the birth process. I don't believe using medical leave to recuperate from giving birth should be called "shirking my duties" by my President.

There's the difference in this situation.

And none of you were the target of this choice. They aren't looking to nab Hillary "supporters". They are mainly looking to a) energize the conservative base, b) pique the interest of and lock in right leaning moderate women (and men), and c) draw in as many non-committed, undecided women voters as possible by giving them (particularly mothers) a candidate they can relate to.

Most self-proclaimed Hillary "supporters" are democrats who would pull the lever for Obama regardless after they were done licking their wounds and let the bitterness subside. McCain wasn't going to turn them no matter what he did. The most McCain can hope for is that a lot of the Hillary supporters will just stay home (i.e., the PUMAs).
