Anyone NOT impressed by Palin?

So far she has said or did nothing to impress except I am impress with her going back to work after I believe 3 days after having a baby. What a superwoman. I know women have done this before but it is usually for economic reasons. I wonder what was hers. I think she was not selected to impress, just to shake everything up. McCain has ran a dull campaign. I think it is all superficial and risky. She is a woman, and women are suppose to be so desperate and clueless that we won't care about her stand on choice, gas prices, healthcare, equal pay, daycare, the war and other women issues. Hillary supporters were not monolithic. This probably will pull some Hillary supporters, but then it may turn off some independents.

She is a hunter. Maybe she could get some hunting tips from Cheney:rotfl2:

Did you miss where I posted she was mayor of a town of 6000 people and a governor for less than 2 years of a population of 700,000?

Heck, Chicago has more people than the whole state of Alaska. Not to mention Alaskan politics being a HECK of a lot different than the lower 48 states' politics.

Are you claiming her time in the PTA in your "8 years of executive experience"? Or is it 6 years as mayor of a VERY small town in Alaska and 2 years as a Governor?

Does it matter how many people live in her state or the city she was mayor in?

So for about the 4th time, I guess you did not read what she has accomplished as Gov.?

I'm shocked. Romney would have been a great pick, lots of experience (both running a LARGE and POPULATED state and true executive business experience.)

As a woman, I'm actually kind of insulted he went with her, in order to grab any PTA moms votes. It's as if he's picking a woman just to pick one.

Wow. I may not be a big fan of her, but that really is amazing. I don't know of many women that have done that.

Well, I will say one thing.........it will be REALLY interesting in 4 years if Mc Cain wills and then they
decide to run his VP in 2012....Hilary vs. Sarah. Wow.

Actually, it is relevant, if you're using the information to contrast her experience with a man who represents over twelve million people. There have been governors as President, and there have been Members of Congress as President. They won't have the same types of track records, but there is no consensus that Members of Congress are any less capable of being President than governors. Some of the most well-regarded Presidents have been Members of Congress.

Like I said, it's a tie.

I’m not impressed at all. We all knew it was going to be a woman, but if Palin is the best one he could find to be President IF something happens to him (with his age, we have to consider that) we are in deep trouble. I believe governing a state with 683,478 and having a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in political science is not enough.

What’s her experience in international relations? This is a MUST if she wants my vote. Living outside th US I’m tired of the hatred must of the world has for our goverment.

Wow. I may not be a big fan of her, but that really is amazing. I don't know of many women that have done that.

:confused3 I don't know any women who'd want to do that, but I guess she had a big job to do. She doesn't earn any kudos from me.

Are you kidding me? YES it matters!!:rotfl2:

It matters how many people are in the state you're governor in because it doesn't say much if you were only elected by a small population. Not as many people to persuade.

Does it matter how many people live in her state or the city she was mayor in?

So for about the 4th time, I guess you did not read what she has accomplished as Gov.?

And for approximately the third time, what has she accomplished that wasn't in her bio? Make a detailed list or provide a link or give up. If her accomplishments were all that great they would have been shouting them from the rooftops.

I want a qualified woman as president someday. Palin isn't it.

I would still pit her experience against Obama. He was a minor player in Chicago politics and in Illinois politics until Jack Ryan dropped from the race for the Senate. He wasn't a major player until then. To use base ball terms, he wasn't even in the triple A. He was bush league. He made no major decisions. He made no major strides. He was a follower behind hundreds of other followers. He wasn't even the main follower. She may have been the mayor of a "VERY small town in Alaska" but the mayor is still usally the leader. She may have "2 years as Governor" of Alaska, but she has done more as Governor than Obama has done in his less than 2 years in the Senate (really less than 1/2 a year) and 8 years in the Illinois Senate.

Why? You mean to tell me that people who run small businesses are less experienced or not qualified to run a larger business? that is rediculous.

Yes it matters....put it this way...Just because you can run yor local McDonalds wouldn't make you capeable for being VP of the whole company!

what did she accomplish exactly..
you mean this???
In 2007, Palin had an approval rating often above 90%.[19] A poll published by Hays Research on July 28, 2008 showed Palin's approval rating at 80%[21], while another Ivan Moore poll showed it at 76%, a drop which the pollsters attributed to the controversial firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan.[22]

or perhaps this...
In August of 2008 Palin signed a bill into law giving the state of Alaska authority to award TransCanada Pipelines a license to build and operate the $26-billion-dollar pipeline to ship natural gas from the North Slope to the Lower 48, through Canada.[33]

Her ok to go for more oil and Natural Gas in Alaska..or the fack she's lettign a FOreign Company do it!

Can't forget this great piece...

In May 2008, Palin objected to the decision of Dirk Kempthorne, the Republican United States Secretary of the Interior, to list polar bears as an endangered species.[36]

guess even in times of the bad economy she likes to spend money...
In June 2007, Palin signed into law a $6.6 billion operating budget—the largest in Alaska's history.[47] At the same time, she used her veto power to make the second-largest cuts of the construction budget in state history. The $237 million in cuts represented over 300 local projects, and reduced the construction budget to nearly $1.6 billion.[48]

You definately can't forget thats shes under investigation!
Governor Palin is currently under investigation by an independent investigator hired by the legislature[49] to determine if she abused her power when firing Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan

shes done some great stuff indeed!

Well if we're doing a baseball analogy, I say she was in T-ball!

Wow. I may not be a big fan of her, but that really is amazing. I don't know of many women that have done that.

At least it’s good to know she takes her job seriously.

Hope the baby has good nannies and therapists. I had a niece with Down’s, nurture during the first months is specially important for children with disabilities.

Again, you're kidding, right? The CEO of Coca-Cola is not the same as the manager at Dairy Queen...

She can kill a moose.

Those things are big.

Very, very unimpressed. McCain is making an obvious attempt to gain support from women democrats unhappy about Hillary. Well, I may have wanted Hillary, but I'm voting for Obama. So, I didn't fall for it!

I agree with the previous poster -- this can only help Obama.

I don't see how this logic works. He picked a woman who her is her polar opposite politically. Other than being a woman what attraction could she possibly hold for Hillary supporters. Of course maybe I'm wrong in assuming they voted for Hillary in the primaries for her beliefs.
