Is there anyone out there that thinks $119 is too much to pay for a handful of pictures??? I say handful b/c most of the pictures that will ultimately go into my scrapbook will be from me -- maybe 6 - 10 will be from photopass. I go thru the agony of this decision before every trip...ugh!

We get photopass about every third trip or so (go at least once/yr). The real problem with photopass is that the pictures are too repetitive year after year. Photopass+ sounds like a winner, and we will get it this fall.

As for the value - that is a very personal thing. Some people spend upwards of $10k on their trips, so this would seem a drop in the bucket. Some feel fortunate to be able to go just for a few days, staying off-site to make it work into their budgets. And every combination possible between the two,

Yep. The recent rise in price was my tipping point. If I want a photo with both DH and me in it it's just too easy to ask a CM to take one using our own camera. When you figure out the average cost of each photo, it's just no bargain for us. I know lots of folks who say they can edit one photo half a dozen different ways so they end up with a ton more photos on their CD. Well I can pretty much do the same thing with my own photos at home. And I won't even consider photopass plus. I'm not about to spend all the $$$$$ on character meals in order to get the extra photos.

We got the photopass cd last trip. We had all of 6 pictures on it though, generally, we preferred the pictures we took with our own camera [with a few exceptions due to us not having a really nice camera]. That said, we're just a pair of adults, no kids, and no real desire for family shots.

I might be more interested in Photopass + if I didn't always look completely disinterested in the ride on the ride photos :).

We don't do it. We do carry the photopass card and hand it over at the right time but then I take it / them home and chuck them.

Dh is a great photographer so we never need the photopass photos and yes, I know about the 'magical' ones but just not interested.

We did buy one Photopass photographer picture once in the parks. It was a few trips ago and DD ran into Princess Tiana on Main Street just after the opening show. Tiana recognized her and they walked hand in hand down Main Street. Dh had gone ahead to do the "Rapunzel Run" so he wasn't there to capture the moment - luckily a Photopass photographer did. We went to a place in Epcot and printed off a single picture which we treasure.

We haven't done it in years. The photopass photographers will gladly use your own camera to take pictures. I refuse to pay $100+ just for borders around my photos.

We travel during high capacity time so we don't do it. One day I paid attention an only saw one photographer, with a line waiting for him totake the photo. We are lucky and have a photographer in the family.

we just do a share so yes we get it each time. $15-20 for all the pics beats $120 plus shipping.

Have NEVER gotten the photopass, and don't plan to ever get it. We have good cameras, and prefer our own over their "posed" ones with all the people in it. Like others have said, there is always a CM nearby that will gladly snap a pic if you ask them ;)

Never done it. Thought about it a few years ago, but then next trip I paid more attention & it didn't seem like very many Photopass people were out taking pics? Plus I think it's very expensive so we use our own camera & it's easy to find a willing person to quick snap when needed.

I call it a pricey convenience. the best feature for me is that I get to be in the picture also. ;) I've got a good DSLR camera (Nikon d3100) that takes pictures just as well.

Lastly, I like more natural shots and background shots which usually the photopass photogs don't do. I love taking pictures of cues.

I didn't do photopass last September because we always have our camera and I enjoy taking pictures. I was told over and over that the photopass photographers would happily take pictures with our camera. We asked 3 times and not one photographer took a picture of us. And, the best spots are taken over by photopass now so you feel like you're "in the way" to try to take a picture there. I wasn't very happy with the addition of photopass. But, I feel like I will have to do it next time to get some really good pictures.

Wow, I had no idea that I could ask a CM to snap our picture! Thanks a bunch for mentioning that and just in time for our trip in 15 days! :worship:

WE normally get a photopass card but I've only ordered one picture ever. It was me & hubby in front of castle at mickeyx xmas party. WE used it for xmas cards. Other than that we hand over our camera to take pics :) WAste of $$ when u can do same for free u know?

We always get Photopass and find it is great value for us. But that is because of how we schedule our trips.

We always come back with around 400 pictures on ours before editing. We do a lot of character meet and greets which adds quite a few pictures on each trip. we only go once a year, BUT we never go for less than 15 nights so we have plenty time to make use of it.

Now while I am a big fan of Photopass, I would not go and tell everyone that they should get it. It's like the Dining Plan, Disney transportation and EMH - it works really well for some and not for others. .

I thought about this for upcoming trip. On our last trip in 2010, which was my first trip in over 10 years, we did the photopass thing. When I got home and looked at my pictures and wanted some of them.. I noticed the price. I was WAY taken back by that. $14 for 2 4x6. Are they crazy? I ended up purchasing some. For just a few pictures.. I don't think it's worth it.

But, with the photopass +.. We are going to do it. You get the whole cd, plus a cd of over 400 professional pictures from around Disney, plus the ride photos which I know our niece and nephew would want some of those, plus character meals. I think it's a little more worth it.

We did Photopass on our trip last week because it was the first trip my boyfriend and I were taking together, and we wanted the convenience of not having to hand his brand new camera over to someone to take the pictures. We have been waiting to look at them until we are together. Hopefully tonight!

But photopass + is $200, correct?

I thought about doing it, but couldnt seem to justify the per picture cost. Especially, when photopass ppl will use our camera as well. If I was divinging the cost with 3-4 other families, then maybe, yeah. But on our own. Sorry, no. Not worth it.
