Anyone not do photopass?

Do you only get one card with photo pass? We are going in Aug. with several grand children and I thought it would be a good idea. But because of their age diffrence we will most likely split up a lot in the parks. DH talking the older boys and me with the little ones.

On two occasions we got the photo pass card & had many photos taken. At each photo spot, we also handed the photographer our camera to also take pictures of us. We saved alot of money, because our camera had great pictures on it taken by the photopass photographers! No need to pay such high prices for the same pictures

We will do the photo pass and take pictures will our camera. If I like what I see, I will purchase a photo pass picture or two. I think $120 or $200 is a little much for pictures that may or may not come out the way I like.

Nope, collect as many cards as you'd like. You'll just 'add' each card to the account online.

And when you forget to change the settings on your camera, you DON'T have the pictures. (spoken as someone who has done that).

IMO, the change up to $120 for pre-purchase would have me rethinking. When it was $99, if you wanted prints of 7 pictures, it was worth it. I don't know if we'd get 9 prints (the new "break even" point).

When we do PP, we take advantage of it. We haven't printed anything yet, but everything is on CD for when we do need it.

I personally don't see the value in it. I mean, you get the free photopass card when you are there and like many PP's mentioned, they will take your pic and put it on the card, and they will take pics with your camera too!!!

I personally feel that the borders and stuff that you can get are a wee-bit tacky and wouldn't use them for our photos, but I've always been able to go back and choose great photos from the photopass card that we DONT PAY FOR, and order great products and photobooks from the photopass website.

I posed the question awhile ago on this board about why people pay for Photopass, clearly I still don't get it. :confused3

I am missing something in your message.

What does it mean that you choose photos from Photopass that you don't pay for, and order products from Photopass website? I thought you were saying that you don't pay for Photopass...

I am confuzzled...Tiger

I like the word confuzzled. :goodvibes

You get a photo pass card from any of the photo pass photographers, and you just hand it to them when you want a picture taken, they will put the pic on the card. When you get home, you can log on to the photo pass account per the number on the card you are given, and there's all your pictures. Plus, you can upload your own pics to the account and do all the stuff you want with them through photo pass on line. The difference is that with pre pay, you get to keep the CD with all the pics on it and add borders at no extra cost. I don't do the borders, and I don't need the CD.

But I still get all of the pictures I want and make my obligatory photo pass memories book.

Last year, I got the photo book and printed out the pictures I wanted for about $120. If I had paid for the photo pass, I would have had to pay for the photo book on top of that and it would have cost much more!

Thanks for the explanation, but I know how Photopass works, so that wasn't my confusion. Your wording threw me off, but I see that you mean you only buy the Photobook with the photos you want, and don't buy the CD.

I was very confuzzled by you saying you don't understand why people pay for Photopass? I took that to mean any Photopass product, but I see that you mean the Photopass CD only, as you do purchase other Photopass products.

Glad you like your book - we haven't ever ordered as the shipping to Canada is ridiculous, so I haven't actually seen a Disney Photopass Photobook.

Tiger :)

I am a big proponent of the photopass share.

All of the benefits, none of the exorbitant costs.

It's a no-brainer for me.

I LOVE photopass and I have some great shots. My favorites are night shots with tripods, but I admit I also love collecting magic shots too. I would never go without joining a photopass share first!

Yes! I don't buy the CD but I still use the card to order stuff. I just think that some people give the message that the photgraphers won't take your pics WITH their cameras if you didn't prepay, but they will...

Yup, I think some people do have this misconception, so it's good to point out that Photopass CMs will take your photo with your own camera, and it has nothing to do with prepaying or not, as they have no idea who has prepaid for the CD.

I found it a lot cheaper to pay for the CD and make my own prints. Plus I prefer Shutterfly photobooks because I make ALL of mine thereand they are all the same size and line up nicely on my shelf. So I buy the CD and then make my book on Shutterfly. Shuttefly has great sales so I always wait until photobooks are 50% off AND I have a $10 off code and I get my photobooks for next to nothing.
