Anyone nervous about travelling to US now or in the near future?

Our trip is the end of March, and I'm a little nervous about the possibilities of the US/Iraq thing. Am I hitting "panic" too soon? If they did go to war, would you still travel if you had plans?

I think I'd be more concerned if I was travelling to the Mideast.;) All kidding aside, if you can get in, I would imagine that security will be extremely tight - you'd likely be safer then than you are now .

We leave for WDW day after tomorrow ... and although we certainly have been listening to all of the news reports, we are still going. I am not too concerned at all, and I don't expect they will completely close the borders so I'm sure we will be able to get home ... just might be a long wait to get across the border. I've been telling everyone at work that if they close the border, I will just have to stay at WDW until further notice! Good thing we all have AP's (LOL). Don't fret about your upcoming trip ... just enjoy the moments of your countdown to it.

I have to travel to Georgia on business Feb 8. If there is going to be a war, my guess is that war action will start between Feb 9 - 15...I'm not going to delay my trip unless there are travel restritions/border issues etc. My co-workers are guessing that Bush wants a very quick war, so hopefully it would be over by end of March. Every individual will have to assess their own feelings of personal and family safety, but we travelled to WDW two weeks after 9/11. I was very nervous prior to getting to Florida (actually got gray hair worrying in advance of trip), but had a great time when I was there. I'm praying for peace, but I think war is inevitable. Keep your plans and try not to worry!

I'm not thinking about it too much but I know its hard not to because its on all the newscasts everyday. I don't think they'll close the border completely but there might be a couple more delays. I agree with Maryliz ... A coworker of mine just cancelled a trip to countries that are near the Middle East .... I definetly would not be travelling there.

Yeah, I am a little nervous, I am actually posponing a move to the U.S. for a few months to see what happens, however, a vacation, I would still do, but moving there right now, a little scary.

I'm not any more nervous than travelling to the US now than I ever was. If anything, people are more watchful of suspicous behaviour and there's tighter (though not perfect) security at the borders and airports.

I'd be more worried about a car-jacking, mugging, or getting in a run-of-the-mill car accident during my trip.

After my last flight from London (UK not Ontario) to Vancouver, my flight was quarrantined and a few 'suspicious' men were being questioned by customs officers. Scary? Maybe. But at least the Customs officials are paying attention and not daydreaming about what to cook for dinner.

I really believe in seeing things as they 'are' at the moment and not 'worse than they are'. I plan to blissfully (ignorance IS bliss) continue to plan my trip, dream of sunshine, a large mouse and fireworks.

If a war interrupts that, there's nothing I can do about it.

Enjoy your vacation planning!

Go have fun and remember this one thing once you get to WDW everything else goes away atleast while you are there. It sure does for us it is like there is no outside world and hell if there is a war there is a war not much we can do about it Bush seems to want to push on with the stupidity so no one will change his mnd so go and have a great vacation.

"Push on with the stupidity"?

I think the editorial stuff is best left for the debate board.
