*Anyone* managed a Tusker House *LUNCH* ADR after 12/3/11??

From anything I can tell, the "magic date" for lunch ADRs at Tusker House seems to be 12/3 - plenty of availability up through that date, and then *nothing* on any date I've tried after.

Disney Dining mentions nothing about the place not being open for lunch any time soon, so I'm baffled as to what's up. I'm wondering if anyone has gotten a reservation after the magic date of 12/3, or if anyone has a clue what's up.

I love the TH lunch buffet, and it would be a disappointment if for some reason they've chosen to discontinue it in a park that has so few choices for sit-down lunches.

I have been trying to get 1pm for Jan 30th with no luck. I wanted the tickets for Nemo deal. Anyways, I gave up and got a 4pm dinner reservation. If the lunch becomes available I will change my plans. My wife and kids won't let us skip Tusker on a Disney trip.

Given the thundering silence, I'm thinking there probably aren't any seatings released for TH lunch after 12/3.

Any guesses what's up? Can't imagine there are plans to not open for lunch, even during Christmas week, so it's got to be something else.

Been checking for reservations end of January 2012 and nope, nadda, nothing. I wonder if they're changing hours or something because it's a bit unusual to find absolutely NOTHING for Tusker House in late January. Breakfasts, yes, lunch zippo.

I have been trying to book TH lunch for both the week of Dec 11th 2011 and the week of March 4th 2012 . . . and no openings seem to be available for lunch during either time period. Only breakfast until 10:40 and dinner starting at 4-ish. Very strange. I booked a dinner but will keep checking as we would prefer lunch.

ahhh, that explains a lot! I have mixed feelings about the change. I think the lunch is currently about $22 and now will go up to ?? as much as $35

I know most people will probably be happy about having another character option though. We thought the buffet was great but DS 9 doesn't care about the characters that much.

I will keep looking for them to open up lunches in Dec and let ya'll know if you don't beat me to it!

This is certainly the reason for the absence of reservations, since December 4 is precisely the day when lunch availability disappears.

A shame that they're going to take one of the very best in-park lunches in all of WDW and "plus it up" as another character meal. If they keep the outstanding buffet, and not put too big a price increase in place, I may just choose to swallow the extra cost and tell them "no characters, please" at check in.

(I'm assuming the characters will not be Jasmine, Esmeralda, Pocahontas, and Belle in safari garb. That, of course, would be a whole different story.)

What's the cost of the character lunch at Crystal Palace? That's probably the most comparable meal when it comes to trying to guess the new price point.

CP = $33 for adults for lunch
akershus is $35

I already booked CP as the only character meal we have planned for Dec so now may be making a choice - it would be fun to see Donald - my DH does a pretty good impression of him - oh boy I can hear it now

The lunch ADR's for Tusker House can be made over the phone now. Not available online yet.

The CM I had on the phone said it will no longer include the Nemo tickets. The lunch is 11:00am-2:45pm. Menu on the buffet for lunch is not changing. The price she told me for adults is $27.68 including tax. She couldn't tell me the kid's pricing since I have no kid in my party, lol.
Will have Donald, Daisy, Goofy & Mickey, just like breakfast.

Just made them by phone no problem. CM said that they are getting alot of people calling and switching things. He said he guesses they are tired of eggs! Anyway, looking forward to trying the lunch there... we've always been stuck with breakfast to see the characters! Mama is happy!!

I made the reservation by phone. The website was still showing no availability.

I had to call twice to get it. The first CM I spoke with said that it's booked. Then I called back two minutes later and that CM said there's plenty of availability, that it's just not uploaded into the computer system yet and that they have to manually put it in.

Yep booked mine yesterday for Dec 4th...had to call to do it
