Has anyone made Disney theme party invitations? We will be at WDW for ds's 1st b'day, but family wants a party when we return. Has anyone made invites? If so, any advice or would you like to share your ideas (or even pics of what you made)?
Thanks! :sunny:

I've done my own invites before. DS had a Bug's Life bday, and it was impossible to find anything, so I just did it myself. I can't remember where I got the pic of Flik - but I did the design in Powerpoint, printed it on a good quality white paper, and then mounted it on green cards from Michael's.

I also did Minnie ones for DD bday - I scanned a napkin, lightened it up, added some things - again all in Powerpoint - and then again printed it on nice white paper, mounted on pink vellum and then on white cards from Michael's.

I'm sure there are tons of creative ideas out there.... good luck!

I haven't done this, but have seen it in a scrapbook. Make a Mickey (three circles) and the ears can fold down so when they open it, the info is inside. The one I saw had the metallic gold pen for the writing. Three circle punches could also be a quick and easy way to dress up a plain yellow or red notecard.

Is there a particular character or theme you want? Maybe we could think of other ideas.

How about using a photo of your DS with a character as the cover. I have Photo Impressions on my computer(Mac) and it makes cards. You can find card-maker software just about anywhere. Maybe the inside could say something like "relive the magic" since the party is after his actual birthday. Put some mickey head confetti in the envelopes if you can find some. The barber shop at MK sprinkled some on in my hair so I'm sure you can find some. They also put some on the table at our sons birthday dinners and we put it in a film canister.
If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

I was going to do a disney theme 1st b-day for my little one -
but thanks to Nicurna nd her shopping habits it has been changes to a Peeps theme - lol
any how

are you sending them out after or before your trip -
could they have a picture of ds at disney?

I am doing a collage of pictures of her first year.

HI guys! Thanks for the advice! I guess I will send them out right before we leave since party is when we get home. I love the 1st year collage idea! Also, I do have a picture of ds meeting mickey a few months ago ... I could also use that! decisions, decisions ... lol!
I had forgotten about the pixie dust ... we have seen that before! I will have to collect some this trip!!!!! Thanks bunches! Let me know if you think of anymore.

I have two Disney party books. Each chapter is a different theme, like Peter Pan, Pooh, etc. If you want me to check in it I can and give you the idea for an invitation for a character you are considering. I'm not sure any of them are just "Disney".

Oh, and my kids are 17 and 14, so you won't find anything from the last few years in either book. They are both a few years old. I'm just hanging onto them so I can make Disney parties for grandchildren someday. ;)

For DD's first birthday I bought a pink onsies and wrote the invitation information on the front with fabric paint. Then I put the onsie on her and took her picture (actually LOTS of pictures). I took the best one and duplicated it and sent it out as the invitation. It was hard to get a great picture.... she wasn't quite 10 1/2 months when I took the photo so she wasn't walking and was just barely standing without support. It did take a few rolls of film (this was prior to digital), but in the long run it was worth it.

As far as a Disney invitation.... look around for a print program made by Disney. I picked one up cheap (9.99) at Job Lots or Big Lots or someplace like that. It has loads of print ideas in it.... I have used it some for scrapping. Just be sure the one you buy includes the character you want to use. Or you could check the web for Disney clipart (sorry I cannot provide a link right now, but there are plenty out there). Again, I have used the clipart for scrapping and other such things. HTH.....................P

HI guys - great ideas! My friend suggested I see if there is a HUGE Mickey head punch to write all the info on then mail out. I know our local scrapbook store has these REALLY awesome shaker boxes with mickey heads and that kewl pixie dust inside, but they are also $3 a pop! UGH! Most of the people we are inviting don't understand why we do disney so much, so I hate to "waste" that on people that don't appreciate! Is that terribly bad of me??? LOL!
