Congratulations on passing ROFR. You've given me new hope. We just signed a contract for 200 points at $80.00/Point for SSR and I was getting concerned becuase it is on the low side. Also, everyone who has heard back from Disney in about a week is giving me hope too. The wait is killing me. I've scoped out 2 other possabilities if we don't pass ROFR, but I just need to know!

What are my chances of Disney OKing this one:

SSR-200 points at $80.00/point. 1 point remaining for this year. 141 points coming in February 2008 and 200 in February 2009. Buyer (non-DVC member) to pay closing costs, MF on 1 point for 2006 and 141 points in 2007. Seller to pay MF on 59 points for 2007.

I REALLY,REALLY want this. Everything is exeactly what I wanted.

There is no problems with a "loaded" contract, quite the opposite. Disney has a tendency in the time I have watched the Dis to not care much about the points available but to focus on price per point and who is paying closing costs and fees. So Disney is almost as likely to ROFR a contract that is "stripped" with no points as loaded if the price is too low, ex. SSR below $83. I had to take into consideration that the point values on the open transfer market is about $11 a point which seriously can offset the initial cost of a "loaded" contract. Personally, I just used my extra points to splurge and save enough to go 2X in same year, but if I wanted to I could have transferred my 150 banked points to another DVC member for $1650! That's a lot more than I could have saved with a "stripped" contract with no points.

Allright. The first time I didn't ask for enough pixie dust(or pt value was too low). This time I am asking for help before I send the contract in. 270pt vwl @ 82/pt. seller pay closing. 251 coming 09/07 and full for 2008. Feeling better about this time. Also can buying too much pts be bad? will probably spending a lot of time on the rent/trade board. How have the experiences been offloading pts?

In my analysis, I considered buying too many points on a single contract to be not worth it. You have the up-front costs, and then the ongoing maintenance costs. Plus, the bigger the contract, the more difficult it is to resell. But, then, I'm not interested in renting points, so if that's something that works out for you, your calculation would be completely different.

Either way, as I said, good luck with your contract! This one looks much more likely to pass than the previous one.
