Anyone looking for a 1000 point contract at OKW?

I thought my 500 point contract at BWV would be hard to sell, this one is a doozy.

Anyone have 80k sitting around?

I am also kind of surprised at the price -- $80 per point. That seems high from where other contracts are priced.

I too think that is pretty high. I have always noticed the larger point contracts are often priced lower per point to move them. I suspect this is someone "testing the waters" to see if they can get it. Actually, I would do it in a heartbeat if I could afford it!

Actually, this is why I am glad that we bought 2 smaller contracts instead of one big one.

If we ever do have to sell ( :earseek: :sad2: :sad1: :scared1: :faint: :( ), I do think smaller point amounts would be easier to sell than larger ones.

Yepp, guess it would be hard to sell, even if they reduce the price per point. But... we will see how long this offer will be on the list....
but if I win in the lottery tonight... I may think about it :rotfl:

Do they take checks??? ;)

Yes,Bob, for you we do take checks!!!!!

I actually had my 500 point BWV contract for $80pp , I settled for $77.

That one will go for $75 ,if they can find a buyer for $75k.

That is sort of on top of the buying pyramid.

There is a thread about this on the DVC Community Board. Here was my reply to that:

Holy Cow! :earseek:

First, I'd smack my guide  if (s)he didn't advise me to buy 4 250pt or 5 200pt contracts.

Second, I'd rent out the available points, then in June strip it and rent the rest for early fall trips so that the closing can be held this year.

Third, I'd drop the price well below the ROFR threshold and HOPE someone puts an offer on it so Disney will buy it back before '06 MF's are due.

Notice, I didn't say find a "buyer", b/c then they would be in the same fix if they decided to sell.

I'm surprised that people would buy 1000 points at one time. I'd also hate to pay that maintenance fee bill every year.

I know in the beginning, I heard there were some corporations that bought large contracts. They used the points as rewards/incintives for employes. For a company, it would be easier to have one large contract than a few small ones.
Does anyone rememberr the 10,000 point contract that was for sale for a long time?

I've been looking at that, I think a lower offer might take it - at least as far as the seller is concerned.

That doesn't much matter does it? I mean if you're going to own about 1000 points, be it in one contract or 10, as far as MF's go, you're still going to have to pay the same amount. :)

SueMinMN:

You said there was a 10,000 point contract for sale previously?

Did DVC have different limits in earlier days? I thought you were limited to 5,000 pts. per person now.

Just struck me as odd.

I don't know about the limits, but I do know that there was one big one for sale.
