I live in Windermere. I am about 5 minutes from the back of the Magic Kingdom. Windermere is a great place to live. It is very quiet. Although close to WDW, it is not a tourist area at all. CR535 is the main highway through the area and the traffic is very reasonable.
They recently built a new middle school in the area. Depending on where you live in Windermere, the high school would be West Orange or Olympia. West Orange has a brand new, beautiful building. Both are very big schools.
Shopping does require a bit of a drive. Winter Garden Village is the closest mall to my area. It is about ten minutes from my house. It opened a little over a year ago and is very nice.
The homes in this area range from the $200's to several million dollars. Many celebrities live in Isleworth. I don't worry about the value of my home dropping in this area.
There are very few apartments in the area, but there are a lot of homes available for rent at this time.
