anyone live in Celebration?

DH & I are seriously thinking about moving to Celebration . . . would love to hear anyone's thoughts/feelings about living there - TIA!

If you think it is expensive now, you should have looked 5 years ago. Much cheaper these days.

I've got aunts, uncles, & cousins, who live there (condos & single family homes). They all have been there for years & love it.

DH & I plan to move there in 11 eleven years when I retire.

We've been watching the prices for a while . . . it looks like there are a few condos that might agree with our budget (fingers crossed!)

Depends where you are from - we moved here from Los Angeles and found the home prices quite reasonable for the size house.

We walked around the town in February and I fell in love with it. You're looking at 50-100k more expensive than the surrounding towns. But what you get is a different kind of community. You can park your car at night and walk to restaurants & shops (depending on the part of the neighborhood you're in.) So...it definitely has the trade off.

There are a lot of planned communities in FL that you might want to take a look at if you're looking at moving to FL and would prefer a single family home versus a condo because your money will definitely get you more outside of Celebration.

Yep, it wasn't even an option when we were buying a house four years ago...now though....oh well, I like my house, I like my house, I like my house....

It's a gorgeous area. Our dentist and eye dr. are there, and we also love to go walk around and have lunch at Market Street Cafe.

While Celebration is nice, there are many areas of Orlando just as nice (and very close to WDW) that are not so much of a tourist mecca. It is just too touristy for my taste. While I am only five minutes from WDW property, there is no where near the amount of tourist traffic in my area that you will see in Celebration and I think it is just as nice an area. JMHO.

We have looked at other planned communities near WDW and agree that there are some that are really beautiful, but we keep coming back to Celebration . . . even though our money won't go as far there (we want a two bedroom condo, not a single-family home), we really have our hearts set on it!

Well, the stars aligned just right and we definitely received a dash of . . . we will be closing on our condo in Celebration later this month!

It's pretty tiny, but we love the location and the price was right, so we are very happy!

We'll be "snowbirding" (late spring thru autumn up north) so we won't actually be living there until late fall, but I'd be happy to post pics when we get settled!
