A Vault Disney channel was being seriously considered back in 2000. But then Vault Disney's ratings dropped like a rock in its last few years, and at the same time TV Land's ratings began plummeting too. TV Land's ratings are still down nearly 20% from last year, with no end in sight.
Hallmark Channel bought the TV rights to 100 old Disney movies last year, which they showed frequently at first, but then the ratings weren't good, and now you can barely find a Disney movie on the Hallmark schedule.
There obviously just isn't enough demand for old Disney programs on TV, and we're gonna have to suffice with DVD releases.
Frankly, I don't think park admissions is all THAT high. I would happily pay 50.00 to go to the parks all day, and all night. Oh wait, they close at 7p.
Shareholder Question - "Will they ever drop the cost of entry into the parks?"
ME - ARE YOU KIDDING???!!!
No seriously - he directed the guy to the specials that are run by "partners" - and said that the "value" of the trip is found after you arrive at the park and the fact they TRY to keep it affordable for the average family.
