Anyone know of Tshirt dresses?

DD (who is 3 going on 13) is refusing to wear anything but dresses. I showed her a bunch of Tshirt designs (princess stuff, girly stuff) and got her some cute pink tshirts and ONE white one (so the 4 of us match one day) for our shirts for disney. She is telling me she will ONLY wear dresses. I said she could wear a skirt and then the Tshirt with the skirt and she says that is not "beautiful" enough and princesses always wear DRESSES!

Does anyone know of any dresses that the transfers can be put on? Or should I just make the shirts, get skirts to match and have her deal with it once we get there??

My mom used to make me tshirt dresses all the time when I was a girl! THey are super easy if you sew or know anyone who sews! Basically she would just get a tshirt, you could even use a longer tshirt if you wanted since those are "in" right now and then you just pu tiers of long (5-6 inches) gathered material to make it kind of flouncy and the length you want...I'll try to find some kind of pics to post!

How cute is that?? Thanks for the idea! Although I'm no seamstress and don't know one either! I DO have a sewing machine - is this something that would be fairly simple to do on my own if I don't know anything about sewing???

It think the hardest part would be making the pattern since you don't know much about sewing. You basically get a very full (poodle type) skirt pattern and cut it bigger than the length around the opening of the skirt so you can gather it...or if you want it flat like in the picture don't cut it much bigger. Probably the best thing for you to do is to find a pattern for a long waisted dress with flounces and just use the skirt part to make the bottom and sew them onto the tshirt. You could probably find a pattern like this at WalMart or any sewing store!

LOL! I can see myself doing the same.

I'm not overly thrilled with character t-shirts and the like for the parks as I like solid, simple clothing for pictures, but I'm now thinking pajamas and more pajamas. Wouldn't it be neat if my kids came back to our hotel room each night to find a new jammie shirt awaiting with a design related to one of the parks we visited that day (along with a little note from one of the characters thanking them for visiting)?! Ugh, and I only wanted to pack a couple of pairs of jammies for each child. Not only will I likely spend $200, I'll now be overpacking when jammies was something I originally wanted to skimp on. I can't win!
