anyone know if OKW has adjoining studios?

I don't think so, but they do have "adjoining" studios with a 1BR. It is actually called a studio "lock-off", which in reality is a 2BR, however, you can have separate entrances to each room, with an adjoining door between the studio & 1BR.

Unless I'm mistaken, VWL, BWV and BCV, at least, have adjoining studios though: Don't many of the hallways go 1BR, studio, studio, 1BR, 1BR, studio, etc.?

Monkeypants, because DVC is a timeshare, it was designed around timeshare industry standards. That means a predominance of 2 bedroom units or 2 bedroom units that can be divided (locked off) into a 1 bedroom or studio. Two studios side by side will not have a connecting door....only 1 bedroom/studio combos will, which is really a 2 bedroom. That's why the cost of a 2 bedroom is less than a 1 bedroom plus a studio charged seperately.

To make sure everyone's using the same vocabulary (pay attention, class!), Disney uses the word "adjoining" differently than many other hotels. To Disney it means only "next to each other." Within the regular Disney hotels, the word "connecting" is used to describe that interior door from one room to the next, and these are very rare. In the DVC villas, the word "lockoff" is used to describe that interior door when it connects a studio to a 1-bedroom; the two units can either be combined as a 2-bedroom with 2 entrances or locked off from each other for 2 separate sets of guests.

Marriott and Hilton apparently use the same words as Disney.

in my little bit of experience (parents who owned some small hotels and a mother who worked in some big ones at the front desk), many hotels use the words the same way as Disney does:
Adjoining means two rooms that are next to each other (in some hotels, they mean that the numbers of the room are consecutive, which might mean they are even across from each other).
Connecting means two rooms that are next to each other and have an inside door that can be opened to connect the 2 rooms together.

Yes, but they will be using different entrance stairs and will seem farther apart than just a wall.

I was in building 35 last month on the ground floor, our studio was right next to another studio. Strange thing was our room did not have a window, the one next door did. We had a large mirror instead, which came in handy with 4 women getting ready at once.

Makes sense. I only mentioned the chains I knew for sure did.
