Anyone know if Legoland really IS coming to Florida??

I just heard a rumor that Legoland it coming to Florida...anyone have any details/info about this? My ds7 would LOVE this since we missed it on our first trip to CA. We get to Florida about once a year, so this would be a dream come true for him!!

Yes, it will be on the Cypress Gardens Property. I believe the water park will be a separate admission.

We loved Cypress Gardens in the old days. Hope they keep some of the flowers.

Cypress Gardens will be getting a major facelift as it becomes Legoland Florida,they'll keep the gardens and I think the ski show as well.The waterpark will probably be getting a total Legoland makeover probably mimicking the waterpark being added to Legoland California right now.The park is about 40-60 minutes southwest of Disney in Polk county.The transformation will run for more than a year since the park won't open until late 2011.

They haven't released exact info on when it would be open,all I've heard is late 2011,they have a lot of work to make this a park that will stand out and not just a rework of Cypress Gardens that has failed several times in the last couple of years due to it's location.

We're planning a trip for the same time, I hope it's open by then. DS is a HUGE Lego fanatic and would be over the top excited!

Legoland starts full hiring in April 2011. Training will take 2-6 months.
