Anyone know about elevator at Brown Derby?

This is probably nothing, but thought I would ask. I was standing in the area off the Brown Derby's lobby (near the bathrooms) and there is a set of stairs that are ropped off and and elevator. In front of the elevator there is a large plant-but no signs or ropes telling anyone to stay off. You can easily step in the elevator around the plant. Curiosity got the best of me and I pressed the elevator button and it opened...again no signs telling you not to enter. Just curious if anyone knows anything about this. I didn't go in-perhaps it is not a real elevator?? Or maybe it goes to offices on the 2nd floor? Just curious!

I don't know anything about it, but Playhouse Disney is attached to the building right near those bathrooms so it might be something related to that.

Not sure about that one but I think a lot of them go down to the utilidors under the parks for the Cm's to use.

Several years ago there was a lounge on the second floor called the Catwalk Bar...as I recall. It was a great out of the way place to relax. The elevator may have been one way to get there..??

That's correct, it was for special needs access to the Catwalk Bar and to the restrooms that are up there.

AFAIK, the only park with "Utilidors" is MK.

Yes, the former "Catwalk Bar" used to be "handicapped accessible" via this elevator.

Now the elevator doors are an attractive "backdrop" for potted plants.

Perhaps around 1994, there was the soundstage restaruant(where playhouse disney is) and you ended your character breakfast by going to the upstairs and Aladdin and Jasmine signed and took pictures..then you exited throught the Brown Derby.
