Anyone Just Back From POR?

Is Bob Jackson still playing Tuesday thru Friday nights? We will be at Boatrights on Wednesday and would love to see him again.

Someone was performing last Friday night (around 8:45 PM) but I don't know who it was. I was rushing from the gift shop to my BIL's room, since I had agreed to babysit for them on their last night, and noticed a man in the bar area doing a performance.

If I can find some info today in the newsletter we were given at check-in, I'll post more later.

I thought I asked before but either didn't or never got a response. Does anyone know if POR has Disney movies playing on certain channels like on the cruise? I think this is a great touch & my DD's 3 & 6 Would love all of us snuggling up at end of the day for a great movie. Also, can "floaties" or life jackets be used in any of the pools? Anyone ever get a microwave in their room? Can you ask for one & is there a charge?

They have hairdryers and irons on request, but I don't think they do microwaves! They also have 4-5 'Disney' channels, but we never saw one exclusive for movies. I think they were Toon Disney, regular Disney Channel, and 3 for resort/cruise/DVC/parks infomation type stuff (which we watched over and over again at night )

When we stayed at AKL, they advertised a special channel for bedtime stories - Ariel narrating - but didn't notice this perk at POR.

I checked my "Sassagoula Times" and there's no mention of any performances scheduled for Boatwrights/River Roost (the bar)

One new thing there - horse and buggy rides! They just started last Saturday afternoon!

I just returned from WDW and I spent a few days at PO-FQ. I made sure to head over to Riverside, however, in order to catch Bob Jackson's show. His show was wonderful. My young daughter & I had an absolute ball. I had read all about Bob here on the Dis and I can tell you that everything that I read about his show was true -- he is an incredible entertainer and got the crowd going. My daughter even got an autographed picture of Bob and I will try to scan it in and post it in my on-line photo album so that other Bob Jackson newiebe's can put a "face" with a "name." He was playing on Thursdays through Mondays when I was there. I was told that he had Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.
