Hi all. Now that President's Day is over, I'm curious how the parks are crowd wise. We leave in one week.

Almost everything I've read says to do EMH hour and then park hop. Since my boys are early risers, that was my plan last time. However, we didn't end up following through. Instead, we took a little more time in the mornings and headed to a park that didn't have EE. This really worked out great. I remember being the only people around headed to Star Tours at MGM one morning. An hour later we were walking down NY Street, by ourselves, literally. (This was October.) Anyway, I'm trying to decide which way to go. I'd really like to do MK on Thursday. I'd like to stay all day. We have 5:00 pm ressie for HDDR. I thought we could ride the boat over from MK. I guess my question is, just how crowded did it get last Thursday at MK?

Thank you!

We did EMH at MK last Thursday. That first hour is really a key to seeing a lot. We really made tracks and were able to walk right on a number of rides. The park definitely did get crowded later in the morning. But by then we were fastpassing and going on less popular rides that had very little wait. So we still did well. We left right after lunch (about 1:30) and went back to our room for a break. Then we left at about 4:00 for MGM.

Our usual pattern is to make use of the EMH, go to that park until early afternoon, take a break, and then go to a different park later in the day. That strategy has worked great for us, even at peak times like Christmas and Easter.

Have a great trip! :jester:

travelbug, I love your strategy!! I think I'll do that on Easter Sunday morning, as long as I can get out of MK by 11:30 am. I'll just go back on thursday and do the 2nd EMH at MK. Thank you, I've gotten a lot of mixed reviews about whether or not to go to MK on easter morning, you've given me the courage to know it can be done!!:)

You're welcome! We also went back to MK for a second EMH day. On the first EMH day there, we started out in Fantasyland and worked our way over to Haunted Mansion and Adventureland. The second time, we started out in Tomorrowland, and then went straight over to Adventureland. I know that lots of people totally avoid the EMH park, but we find that first early hour in the EMH park to be like gold. We just make sure we leave by lunchtime, because by then it is usually really crowded.

Good luck, everyone! :D

travelbug, what time would you leave your hotel room to catch the bus if the ehm starts at 8? thanks (staying at por)

For an 8:00 early opening time, we usually left our room by about 7:15 or so. We normally caught a bus around 7:20-7:30, which put us at the EMH park gate by 7:45 or so. Every once in a while, the EMH park opens a little before its appointed time and we want to be there in case it does. But we like to get there early anyway so we can get in line and be ready when the park actually opens.

Buses actually start running a full hour before the EMH time, but we never saw any reason to try to catch that first bus. It would be an awfully long time to stand outside the park and wait for it to open. I'd rather sleep for the extra 15 minutes. :faint:
