Anyone in here decorate cakes?

I had to google what an esthetician does. You can tell I don't get to the spa much. :p

I need an esthetician. Too bad you live so far away. I could do cakes for you and you could get rid of my pores the size of the Grand Canyon.

:rotfl:

Wow just read over the past 90 pages (well over the last few days). Everyone has really inspired to go back to decorating cakes after seeing the beautiful cakes on here. It has been a while but thinking about making a princess castle cake for my DD 4th bithday in a few weeks. Will keep you posted... might need some suggestions or questions!!!!

Here are this weekends cakes...

First one is an Ed Hardy cake. Tattoo artist with a clothing line. Customer is a fan and gave me a picture of what she wanted. It came out pretty neat-o.

Next one is for a 1st birthday. They gave me a plate and wanted the cake to match. The top wagon cake is the smash cake and the cupcakes for the guests.

MosMom i love the cakes. i Made a cupcake stand like that last weekend but forgot to take a picture.

I'm going to finally post here in this thread....been lurking for a LONG time.

First pic is last year's 2nd birthday cake for our daughter....looking back, it doesn't look good at all, but it was the first one I had done. (actually 3rd....first 2 were practice cakes) But for not taking a class and doing it all myself, I would have to say not totally awful.

This year's 3rd birthday cake (Party was today!!) I think came out MUCH better. Still not close to top notch, but a lot better. It really looked good. I got a lot of compliments. Again all done myself...

It took me 3 hours to decorate the Ariel cake....don't remember how long it took to do the Cinderella cake.

I like them both. I like Cinderella's hair in the first one and how it looks like it has movement. Ariel is just perfect.

monte cristo they are both really cute, i bet your hand was sore after doing those cake mine would be.

Oh I love those princess cakes!

Here is the cake I did last year for DS's 2nd birthday.

Not super awesome but also not bad for my first try :) I was pretty darn proud of that thing and was also up until 3am making it!

I will be doing Mickey Mouse this year...paid $50 for the cake pan! Luckily my friend's mom is a Disney fanatic too and he said he would buy it from me to give to her when I am done with it.

I am trying to come up with something neat to do for the cupcakes but I can't find anything Mickey anywhere. I found a couple cute ideas in a Wilton cupcake magazine. So we shall see. I know that I am itching to bake a cake though!

i didn't make those but i would have rolled out some black gum paste or fondant cut out some circles then put those in a candy mold i have to get the rounded shape and l let dry, then make the ears and let dry then attach with some black royal icing.

Here is a cake i finished last nigh. its covered in mmf and the popcorn bucket, clap board, and film reels are rice crispy treats covered in mmf.

Wow, that looks so yummy! I bet your son loved it (of course, if he was only turning 2, he probably just ripped into it! :rotfl: ).

The movie cake is adorable.

The Elmo cake is great. Elmo was my first try as well.
