They look absolutely stunning. :cool1: That pink icing looks too yummy to eat.

That is a GREAT cake Cryssi! You SHOULD be proud. Totally awesome!

I'm currently working on a cake for tomorrow. It is a belly cake but in the corner will be 2 peacocks looking over their egg. Here is one of them...

I'll post a pic when it is all put together. The "stick" holding up the plume is 1 chocolate sprinkle. ;)

thanks!

MosMom...I love the peacock! I especially love the sprinkle holding up the plume... Can't wait to see the finished product!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 These cakes are all SO amazing! I don't decorate cakes myself (yet; it's something I'd love to start doing), but I've been watching this thread with the sole purpose of drooling over your yummy creations. You see, I am a self-proclaimed frosting addict. Make a batch, and I could eat the whole thing. Plus, I've been on a cake hiatus for far too long; I'm going on a cruise in 2 weeks and promised myself I woudn't eat any until then. You ladies are doing a great job at tiding me over! Thanks!;)

Frosting Addict! I like that. When we were kids, my mom took a cake class and we ended up with extra frosting in every color imaginable! It was at that point my mom, who never wasted anything when we were kids, started feeding it to us on Graham Crackers. To this day, left over frosting in any of our houses goes between Graham Crackers and is given to the kids. Most my class mates thought we were the weirdest family.

My kids love all the scraps too. Cake, frosting, fondant, batter...you name it, they want to eat it. :p

I do a little here and there.I make all the Granddaughters cakes.:cake:

We did that too!! When I was living on my own for the first time, I would buy a box of graham crackers and a tub of chocolate icing. YUM!!! Gosh, that sounds good...my husband's going to think i'm nuts if I go to the store for graham crackers and chocolate icing! (feeling too lazy to make my own icing today!)

Peacocks have a home now. My friend's cousin (mom to be) is crazy about peacocks. Their daughter's middle name will be Pavon which means peacock.

This is one of my favorite threads. I love looking at all the wonderful cakes.

Mosmom, those are great! Cryssi, that purse cake is awesome!

There are so many talented cake decorators on this thread. Thanks for posting. I'm sure there are a lot of Disers like myself that don't decorate cakes but love looking at them.

Drunken tequila bottle. He was too drunk to put the sheets on the bed and threw up his worm. :p He is wearing a sleeping mask and aspirin are spilled. ;) This was for my sister's 21st birthday. Inspired by one of Duff's cakes.

Ha ha that's awesome! I need a rosé wine one for my next birthday just like that! That's how I look most Sundays!

Bridget...I so love your cakes! Very talented...

Cryssi & Bridget...we could do some serious damage around here with Duff style cakes if we were all living in the same area!! ;)

I would love love loooove to have a bakery. I'm afraid here I just wouldn't get enough business to cover costs though. Makes me tempted to move back to Indy but the problem in Indy is that there are probably a ton of bakeries so you have a lot of competition.

There's lots of bakeries, but I haven't really seen anyone who does cakes quite like yours! They may be out there, but the majority of what i've seen are the traditional type cakes.

I'd love to have my own business myself, but I don't have the resources right now. The whole getting licensed in Indiana process sucks. No home-based bakeries. You can remodel a garage, but...phew...that's a lot of money!

If ever you decide to head this way again, look me up!
