Wow, these comments can really make you feel stupid. Im sorry, I guess I missed the posts about ppl being able to get fp+ now if they have previously had a reservation with it and bands. I did know ppl where getting them if part of their stay was in nov. I understand everything now sorry again I missed those posts.

I only check once per day but we're staying offsite this trip. If Disney EVER announces anything about offsite people then I want to see it as soon as possible.

It's not random.

In the beginning it was random. Very beginning, like over the summer random.

August and September had certain resorts chosen. So everyone checking in to those resorts for that month, were able to get them.

All resorts on site joined in the testing during October. It was scattered through the month. By October 23rd, though, ALL resorts should be included in the test.

For people checking in during November, they were notified (and when I say notified I mean they noticed on MDE that they could customize MBs)around the 20th through the 25th of September (give or take) that they were MB eligible. Official emails from Disney have been coming typically after people have already gotten their bands in the mail.

So that brings us to December. No one checking in during December has been able to customize MBs yet, or make FP+ reservations.

Except...If you already have magic bands from a prior stay during one of the other testing phases. In that case, those people are allowed to make FP+ reservations AND anyone that checks in Late November where their trip runs over into the first part of December. Those people are allowed to make FP+ as well.

Does that help clear it up any?

I am now reaching my 50 days to go mark, checking in dec 1st @ AKL. Very impatient and also compulsive checking here and MDE, but becoming more used to idea that it will happen for us around oct 20th.

The only thing I have to confess is that it annoys me when some people predicts it will all be cancelled... Hate pessimism!

Ok, I've got you all beat! 2 a day checker, morning and night. But add to that a browser cache clear each morning JUST in case something changes on the servers and I have stale cache info.... The burden of being a Disney fan and a software engineer.

For what it's worth regarding the online check in issues, I was able to successfully modify my check in from MDE (web site) this morning, start to finish, without a Goofy error. Made it all the way through, including setting PINs. It was the 2nd to 3rd screen transition that had always given me an error before. Note that I did my initial check in from the older link a week ago, but that link didn't provide PIN entry or room notification options.

Hopefully this is another sign Disney IT is actually working on MDE bugs. If the IT guys are listening, it's appreciated!

Thanks for the info. When it's late enough for me to call my mom (since we're using their credit card since we used my points) I'll have to try it again. Haven't tried since yesterday morning.

Arriving at SSR on 12/3. The great thing about this thread of posts is that it is keeping me sane. If I didn't know we were all in the same boat I would probably be talking to (and answering) myself. Now.... if the invitations to personalize the MB's start flowing in regularly and I'm not one of them...keep me away from the ledge.

Checking in December 7th. I seem to be checking MDE 3-4x's daily for the opportunity to make FP+ selections and customize magic bands. It is all very exciting, yet frustrating. I do believe that I will have to make a New Years resolution for PATIENCE.

I hope this isn't a silly question, but do we need to get MB before getting the FP+? When I click on Magic Bands and Cards under MDE, I have a page that says "unlock the magic with your magic band or card". It just tells about the MB, but I don't see anywhere to actually order them or customize them. Am I missing something? We check in December 21st. Trying to be patient!

I was also able to modify my check in with no goofy. Did the on line check in on the older website last week, but now added PIN numbers and room requests. We must be getting close. We are at Wilderness Cabins on Dec 4. Can't wait!!
