Anyone in December getting FP+ and MB

Since I have Magic Bands from a past trip, and am able (sort of) to book FP+ for my trip 12/7-12/13, I was able to see something that might be related to why December FP+ & Magic Bands haven't been announced yet.

On Saturday 12/7, the FP+ options appear to be a full list of almost all the known FP+ options, including shows, rides, and character meets - Illuminations, Fantasmic!, Meet Ariel, Disney Junior Live on Stage, Festival of the Lion King, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Tower of Terror, etc.

Beginning on Sunday 12/8, the FP+ options are extremely limited. No parades, fireworks, or shows, and only a couple of rides and character meets. Epcot, DHS, and AK have literally only four or five options available, while MK has just a few more than that.

I think what this might mean is simply that they haven't released the FP+ selections that will be available for the rest of December yet. They could be analyzing data and making decisions about how much of what will be available for FP+ for the rest of December. Having just 12/1-12/7 fully available would make sense, in order to accommodate most testers checking in up through the end of November.

With the FP+ selections not being available for most of December, it wouldn't make sense for them to let December check-ins customize their Magic Bands and try to make FP+ selections yet, as it would lead to a huge uproar over nothing being available. I'm guessing this is all just on a sort of rolling schedule, as many others have thought. I'd bet that by the end of October, we'll be able to customize our Magic Bands for December.

Of course, this is all just my guess, and I could be totally wrong. But hopefully not!

Just a thought. I don't post much and have been following here for awhile. Called this weekend and added a day to our tickets. The CM wanted me to speak with the IT people just to make sure my changes went through on our MDE account. I also mentioned that I could see our tickets online but could not see them under the app version of MDE. My call was transferred and got the nicest CM. She was a talker and boy I can talk too.

She checked everything. I mentioned that friends just returned from fall break and that some of them got to try new bands instead of room keys. I acted like that was about all I knew about it. I did mention that we were there last December and our cards could not pay for anything with the mickey head thing. I mentioned how excited we were that we might get to use the bands this December until friends that stayed at CBR weren't offered them. I told her that we expect Disney to not offer the bands during the busy season. I mentioned that was probably a nightmare for the her dept with trying to get this going. I was really playing like the only info I had was from guests that just returned from the world. yada, yada, yada told you I can talk.

Now here is what she told me (again take with a grain of salt, its a CM saying this). She said that resorts were being added and that my resort, CBR would have the bands. She needed to make sure my account was ready. She deleted a couple duplicates so they would not be a problem. She made sure my tickets were correct. She also made sure that my moms info was linked so that I can make FP+ selections for all 8 of us. She walked through what I need to do step by step and assured me how easy things would be. She said to make sure that I check in at the 60 day mark. She then went on to tell me that my friends received an email invite and that everyone made selections at that time. She said that I may not get an email but that my FP+ will open up 28 days prior to check in date. She even told me my date would be Nov 24th when I would be able to make FP+ selections for my party and since we would be able to make them for our whole trip, she said like I do my dining. She made sure I had the date written down and understood the process of getting my FP+.

Could Disney bring all resorts online then have December guests be the first to see how this will actually work? Have had several on here to mention 28 days, could that be each persons magic number?

Will it work like dining, FP+ will open for you based on your 28 days out plus up to 10 days later?

December 1 check-in's should have their FP+ open up on Nov 3rd (hope my math is right, hate counting back.)
December 2 - Nov 4th
December 3 - Nov 5th
and so on, and so on

What ya think?

Why the change from 60 days to 28 +10? I'm confused? What am I not understanding about your convo with the CM?

ETA: I'm still holding out hope that the whole FP+ thing isn't in full swing in December since I'm staying at the Swan and therefore, not eligible. My choice I know, but still. I can't imagine WDW rolling this thing out full steam ahead, getting rid of FP- entirely during their busiest season. I just don't see that making for a Very Merry time ;) I'm thinking they end "testing" for on-site guests at the end of November and use December and beyond to analyze whatever data they've collected and then roll out, maybe even to off site guests, after the New Year when things slow down some. Then again, who knows. It bugs me that a company of this size is implementing something this huge and allowing so many unknowns and rumors to float around out there, knowing full well that there is a large contingent of people out there that plan like crazy to have a magical trip.

No change from 60, 60 days from check in would be your check in date and 28 days from check in would be the day your FP+ would open up. At least this is what the CM told me this week end (again its a CM giving this info and we all know they are and have been wrong)

What your missing is my thought that the whole month of Dec would not open up within the next week or so, following a pattern of the past FP+ opening up. Instead, as the CM insisted each persons FP+ would open up at the 28 day prior to check in.

Except the (new) video specifically says 60 days.

OK. I guess maybe I thought people were making FP+ selections at 60 days out. My mistake. I'm trying hard to ignore the whole thing since I don't get play ;).

This was our thinking. No way Disney would do this during the busy holiday week. The CM was insistent that MB and FP+ would be available to us during our December 22-31 trip. Who know for sure till it happens but I think Disney has gone so far with this there is no turning back now.

The switch from 60 days out to 28 or 30 days out is just about what another IT CM told a guest. The CM said that Disney decided to make it a 30 day from check in date instead of 60 because of problems with people canceling their reservations after getting MB's

AFTER FP is completly rolled out it will be set at 60 days before your trip.

at the present time (Sept, Oct and Nov) people were able to access their pics around the 20th of the month

Yep, and the new video puts a kink in the theory. I fell for the CM info. Thought about it all weekend and to my better judgment, I believed every word :lmao::lmao:

Maybe it's because I'm at SSR for my trip and I really want MB's but I don't think Disney would roll it out as far as they have and then take it away for December. Seems like more work for them than to just keep it going. I agree that with the crowds it may be a pain if you have problems but what better way to truly test the system...

Of course since I'm there December 8-19 I'm leaving hopefully before the really big crowds start so that might be another reason I'm hoping we get MB's and FP+

So I finally booked my Disney World trip at POP for Dec. 1-6

I was wondering about magic bands... and if I'll be able to experience them... I'm 48 days away from my trip but I just booked the other day... When do you think I'll be able to get the option to customize our magic bands? If I get the opportunity that is...

I'm so impatient but I really want to try them out!

Thanks!:confused3

I'm there on the same dates and so far nothing

I am so excited. I got the Edna video too :cool1: Hope that means we will get to customize them soon. Check in Dec 8 at Pop.
