So I decided the dates for our next trip will be July 28-August 6th. I'm trying to find a room to accommodate 4 adults and 2 kids. It would be really great if it was a place that allowed reservation without having to pay the whole lump sum for the hotel at one time. I know end of July/ August is busy season so I want to make sure we have a room booked ASAP. I would love to keep the price decent but still need the room to be clean and above all the beds comfy!

Background if anyones interested. I'm due end of July/early August. My birthing center is in Orange county so we figured a mini vacation in anaheim at that time would be perfect as I would be near the birthing center, the kids would have a nice time and I can relax knowing I'm so close to my midwife. I'm a surrogate so the two other adults in the room with me are the baby's parents. We would like to get one big room as that would be cheaper but if we can get two rooms somewhere at a good price that would work too. Thansk for any help<:

I really love the Residence Inns. I recently stayed at the one in Garden Grove and it was great. You can get 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom suites which easily sleep 6. Plus the free breakfast is fabulous (and nice to just be able to walk downstairs and grab breakfast in your sweats early in the AM when you're pregnant!)

I second the Marriott Residence Inn - reasonable prices, breakfast included. You can get some suites with two bathrooms as well :thumbsup2 You do not have to pay anything to reserve a room and you have a generous time to change or cancel your plans if necessary.

Thank you! I just made reservations for the residence inn. It's exactly what we wanted:cloud9:

We stayed there 2 years ago, it was just 4 of us but they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom (we stayed on points and my husband worked his magic :wizard: ). It definitely spoiled us. Didn't use the kitchen much but was nice to be able to keep milk and some lunch stuff on hand. Loved the breakfast in the morning and the Bus to DLR was very convenient, even with a stroller and 2 kids under 3.

Well, I'm starting to second guess myself. I'm thinking of just getting 2 rooms elsewhere now. Everyone seems to rave about Hojos and its walking distance from dland.

It's the curse of being a gemini, I can't make up my mind about anything:headache:

Ah, the curse of the gemini....get this...I'm a middle of the month Libra, my husband is on a cusp, and DS is gemini. Do you even know how hard it is for us to make a decision? And how many personalities are roaming our house? :)

It's pretty awesome that you're a surrogate by the way! And that you're planning with a midwife! Yay!

I know nothing about having space for that many people though...we're still just a family of 3 so our needs are small (crosses fingers that changes soon). Good luck figuring it out!

I would think about being nine months pregnant and walking that walk after some time in the parks.......

If you want to get a couple of rooms and be close to the parks, try Best Western Park Place Inn. They offer a deluxe continental breakfast and are right near the pedestrian crosswalk. You can also get suites at Carousel Inn & Camelot Inn (walking distance).

Though, I like Residence Inn, myself, especially Maingate - it is right across the street from the Gardenwalk, where they just added restaurants, and from what I hear from a local (oc_tony) a great sandwich shop.

I'm with Queenbillabong... it's February, and you're planning a vacation right at the end of your pregnancy in July/August... hottest part of the year... a lot of women aren't feeling like even moving much that close, yet you're going to walk 6-10 miles a day (that's the average for visitors to DL).

There are a lot of things that could come up between now and then. You might have complications or be on bed rest.

I think it's wonderful that you're giving such a precious gift by being a surrogate-- but I'm wondering if you're kind of counting a lot of chickens before they're hatched. I'd at least invest in some really good trip insurance.

Sorry, I don't want to be a killjoy... I just wouldn't plan such a major thing so close to my due date. Just my opinion. Best of luck to you!

We have 3 geminis in this house and dh the lone aquarius. I think he's the craziest one though <;Thanks, yes, I LOVE my midwife and am super excited to be planning my first out of hospital birth!

Yea, it doesn't sound fun but walking through the big parking structure can still be quite the ways away depending on where we get spots.

For now I'll keep my reservations at the Residence inn and try not to look at any more hotels! It does look exactly like what we want.

I think you missed that my midwife is minutes away from disneyland, the birth center is in Orange County. If I were to go into labor I would be much closer to her by being in anaheim than where I live, an hour away. We actually would LOVE for me to go into labor while I'm there because then we don't have to drive an hour to OC when I'm in labor and I have a friend that lives near there that can watch both my kids at the hotel<:

If I were to be put on bedrest before then it would be pretty simple to cancel. Most hotel cancelation policies are 1-2 days notice and we have AP passes so we wouldn't be out ticket price. Basically if it doesn't work out we are not out any money.

Kudos to you on the surrogacy! My sister was a surrogate as well, I personally think it's one of the most unselfish acts a woman can do!

You could always have DH drop you off at the front of DL and then pick you up again.

Have fun, good luck with the pg and I hope you're able to have a great trip. :)

I don't know which RI you're at, but we had no trouble with ART from the Garden Grove one and it was less walking than parking and walking to the tram and from the tram.
