We (DW and I, along with 2 DS's) joined just over 4 years ago. DW (who graciously controls the checkbook) thinks the "initial" fee was $250. Our monthly "fee" is $94.95. We have the "sports" membership, which is $10 more per month, with some "perks" (don't know the details on that, only DW has taken advantage of it).
DW and I absolutely love the child-care area! It's clean, organized and well directed, with plenty for children aged roughly 1yr-9yr to do (after that age, I would say it is "too" kiddie-like). DS's also like it. We are fortunate in that we live about halfway between 2 LIFETIME FITNESS Centers here in metro Detroit. Sometimes, DW and I will even let the DS's choose which "LIFETIME" to attend.
I like the variety of workout equipment. From treadmills....to stationary bikes.... eliptical machines.... strength training machines and "free"-weights...pool...whirlpools and sauna, LIFETIME FITNESS has it all. The trainers there are pretty good, too. A trainer there is expensive... about $60 per 1-hr session (sometimes, they do run specials on that). A trainer who didn't like the fees told me that the trainers actually receive less than 1/2 of the fee. If you choose to use a trainer, don't just sign up with the first one you meet..... Watch how they train others. Are they just "going thru the motions" or are they actually training and motivating their client(s).
All this being said, I must be in some kind of shape. Round would be it!
If you're still interested and have about 90 minutes to spare (as I did over 4 yrs. ago, just "pop" in, say you're interested, and they should have someone available to give you a thorough tour of the facility.
No..... I do NOT work for LIFETIME FITNESS. I'm just a customer whose kids learned how to say "LIFETIME FITNESS" before the word "hamburger".
Good luck.
