Anyone heard of "The Palms"?

My husband is currently attending a conference which is held at the Yacht & Beach Club each year. They just announced that they have outgrown that facility and starting next year will hold the meeting at "The Palms". I did a search and see quite a few hotels with "Palms" in the name. They told him it is just on the other side of I-4 from WDW and that there is a Disney Store inside the hotel. Any clue????

Could it be this resort? Another poster told me this resort is near the Wyndham Palms Resort.

The Disney Store part is confusing to me. I don't know of ANY hotel or resort that has a Disney Store inside. Perhaps they meant that the hotel's gift shop sells some Disney items???

A couple years ago, we toured a place called "The Palms - A Tempus Resort" during it's earliest construction phase. Looking at the site linked above, I believe this is the same place. It was a lovely resort with a very pretty pool area and some great plans for expansion. It's perhaps 10-15 minutes drive to Epcot and now that the roadwork on 192 is complete, it ought to be a breeze.

The other possibility that I can think of... Marriott Orlando World Center (lots of conventions there). On their shared property, they also offer 2BR villas at Royal Palms & Sabal Palms and 3BR villas at Imperial Palms. All are spacious villas with nice amenities and able to use the facilities at MOWC.

Since you are accustomed to staying at an Epcot deluxe hotel, the lesser convenience of any of these may bother you. Obviously, you cannot walk to the Disney parks and the employees are not costumed to a theme. But if you take these resorts separately, in their own right, you may really enjoy them a lot. I would certainly be happy to stay at any of these.

That is the gaylord palms resort..it is spectacular...make sure you go with him next year. You will love it.

There is a disney mdse store inside, along with many other shops, restaurants.....very cool place. The inside is made to look like outside, there is a boat, castle, all the balconies face inside...you have to see it to believe it.
