Anyone having more anxiety about 1st grade than you did about Kindergarten?

Mo starts 1st grade on the 16th and I feel way more worked up than I ever did about Kindergarten. I still took her to school and had her with me half the day in Kindergarten. Now, she will take the bus both ways and be gone all day. Wahhhhh! I'm dreading the 16th! On days where she is really working my nerves...yes, I can't wait for school but for the most part I will really miss having her around. Time flies WAYYYYYYYYY too fast. It just seems like yesterday she was E's age. I'm brought to tears when I think about it.

Could be hormones though.

I had WAY more anxiety with 1st grade than with Kindergarten. DS attended K in the day center he had been attending (full day program) so I dropped off and picked up every day, and knew all the teachers, etc, and could still call them, to see how he was doing.

For grade 1, I had to put him on the bus, send him off, and that was that.

You know what, he did GREAT. You will be amazed at how Mo grows this year, before you know it, she will be doing things that just amaze you.

I will also freely admit, after the bus pulled away on that first day, I turned around, scooted back into the house,and had a good cry.
