Anyone have this problem with a digital camera?

My FujiFilm E550 is about 18 months old. In the past few weeks, it's been chewing through batteries. I'm talking like about 20 pics and the batteries are drained and the camera won't operate anymore. It takes AA batteries. Did I get a bad batch of batteries, or is there something wrong with the camera? And if there is something wrong with the camera, is there anything I can really do about it? It's no longer under warranty.

I leave for WDW two weeks from tonight! I bought a 24 pack of AAs just in case we have to live with this 'til after our trip!

THANKS!

Are you using NIMH or regular batteries? I'd suspect the batteries, if you're using the same set of rechargables.

The last NIMH batteries I bought were a 20-pack of Lenmar 2500mAh ones from buy.com for $21, free shipping. Those are now $46 including shipping (guess I got 'em cheap!), but they do currently have a 20-pack of Sunpac 2650mHz ones for just under $25, including shipping. That's definitely the way to buy batteries, IMHO. You can always find a use for them, and it's nice to have a few extra lying around.

Not to say that your problem couldn't be the camera... but hopefully it's not!
