Anyone have their MSN search bar taken over by another search engine?

HELP!! I use Internet Explorer and in the address bar at the top of the page could also be used as a search. You type in what you were looking for and then it would bring up an MSN search page with your results. Well, somewhere down the line I must of clicked yes on some silly popup box (I always hit no, I must of been sleepy) and now when I type something in the address bar for a search, it brings up a search page from Yoogee. And I have pop up adds popping up all the time. How can I get back my MSN search?? My DH who is a computer programmer couldn't even figure it out. Someone please help me get rid of Yoogee.

Have you tried going to "Tools" at the top of your page and then clicking onto "Internet Options?"

Oops....I just read your entire post, didn't realize your DH is a programmer. I'm sure you two have already tried that!

Have you gone into your add/remove programs to see if it's listed in there? Just checked mine and I still have msn search.

Also, to find this program (if it's not in add/remove), you could go to Start, Search, then type in the name of the search engine, make sure "all hidden files and folders" is checked, then click ok. It should bring the file up for you and you could safely delete it.

It sounds like your computer was hijacked. There is a great program called Pest Patrol that will find those programs that do things to your computer like yours and other things.

It also will keep spyware off your computer. I love the program. You can run a free scan to see if your computer is infected with this stuff. It can't fix it until you buy the program. It is well worth the money.

Mine got hijacked last week when I d/l some smilies. I called Road Runner and they sent me here..it did the clean up just great at no charge:

Then they told me to put adaware on, which I did, and it took off the spy junk.

DMRick...just what I needed. Went to your link and it found 2 parasites. The instructions to get rid of them are very detailed....will have to try when I have more time. Thanks!!
