Anyone have their gallbladder removed?

Had severve pain prior to getting mine out, my recoup time was very long, 10 days pain wise, about 2 years to adjust to foods. I also went from gallbladder problems to IBS and stomach problems due to lack of bile.

If I eat high fat foods I pay for it. But at least it is not pain anymore.
Some days, I'd just as soon have the pain back than to deal with the other issues.

I was taught that it increases with pregnancy because your body is not digesting as efficiently. When hormones cause certain muscles to relax, (Uterus, to prepare for birth), digestion is affected too. Also, the pressure of the growing uterus on the stomach, etc...same reasons you get heartburn while pregnant. Many, many women eat healthier while pregnant than ever before, and end up developing gallstones.

That's it! It's the way the body digests foods. I was in lots of pain at the time and probably not listening to the ER dr as closely as I should have been :) I was one of those who ate healthier while pregnant and got the gallstones anyway so I guess the fatty foods comment would not have made sense.

OP here...thanks for all the replies! :)

My "insides" rule my life now as it is. I have IBS and whatever else so I limit my activities to where I will have access to a bathroom - that is why WDW is such a great vacation spot for me.

I had a dr's apt. this afternoon and he managed to get me in for a gallbladder u/s tomorrow morning (Fri.) so I hope to have some answers after that.
