Anyone have the Tangaroa Terace menu?

jdb,

I'm not sure how much you can customize (since we only ordered a couple breakfast items), but the touch screen ordering system did give options such as 'sauce on the side', or 'no sauce', or 'per menu'. I suspect it probably gives similar options for other things. When you complete your order, it prints out a receipt which you then bring to the cashier (where you may be able to give further instruction).

Since they just are in a 'soft-opening' at the moment, they seemed to be doing everything they could to make sure things go well.

Have fun!

whoo hoo! (why did I call this Tiki Terrace on another post..was the old place in Adventureland called Tiki Terrace??)

Were were surprised how reasonable (by Disney standards) the prices were. And they bring the food out to you! And they took our dishes away when we were done.

Thanks for all the information. Can you tell me what the hours of operation are? I NEED to try that french toast! :cool1:

Not sure what the hours were. They are still in a soft-opening, so I'm not sure if they have them fixed yet. Hopefully, someone else knows. They opened a bit after 9 yesterday morning (but, again, it was their first day). We left around 11ish and there were a few people waiting to be the first into Trader Sam's.

The French Toast was very good. The caramel sauce was quite sugary and the bananas tasted like banana fritters. Bacon was crispy.

This pace sounds yummy and the prices are not bad by Disney standards!
I have to try to eat here during my next trip!
Thank you everyone for the info!

Tahitian Terrace. How I miss it so. :(

Can't wait to try this place in a few weeks though!

ahh..the brain...:confused3
Yes..the cinnamon cake thing sounds interesting. I may have to abandon Storytellers and toddle down past the hat more often.

I know there are people who like sweet potato fries, but for those of us who do not, I wish they'd offer that as an option. Regardless, I'm excited for the flatbread and the burger... Just will tell them to hold the side like I have to do at Country Bear

We are not fans of the sp fries and prefer plain. Not thrilled that this is now the 2nd rest. ONLY offering sp fries. We will not be returning to Hungry Bear which is a real bummer, looks like we won't be trying this new place either

DH must have fries with his burger. Very disappointing.

I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed that they'd replace a sit down restaurant like Hook's Pointe which had a dozen entree options and over a half dozen starters with a counter service with only 6-8 different options.

Ok, we just got back from eating here, I am going to try to post as much as I can about this place (and the bit we saw of Trader Sam's as we stopped in to have a look around on the way out).

First off at the new pools, they were training life guards, so I would expect these to open soon, the old half of the pools will probably be closed shortly after that.

As you enter, the menu is not really that obvious, the touch screens are far more visible and to be honest an easier way to deal with ordering in my opinion. I think this setup works much better than the ones they tested at Taste Pilots that you could also pay at. You order your entrees at the touch screen, then there are MANY snacks, kids meals, fruit plates, desserts and bottled drinks that you can grab before paying. I ordered the Teriyaki Pineapple Burger, DW ordered the Pork Flatbread. We got a sweet potato cake (similar to a carrot cake, note there are nuts, which we believe were pecans) and a Pineapple Liliki (A type of Passion Fruit for those, like us and the CMs who are unaware) Pie. You then take everything to the cashier to pay, who will ask if you want to sit inside or outside (Note: The restrooms are inside and IN the restaurant, which as I am sure many of you are aware is unusual at DL) and you can order fountain drinks, coffee, etc. (free refills), we also ordered two fountain drinks. You then pickup your utensils and condiments, the pick a table and put your number out. They then deliver your meal to you and ask if you need anything else. This restaurant works A LOT like Corner Bakery Cafe or Panera Bread, but even better service, if that is possible. Everything we had was absolutely great, everyone was friendly. With the discount, our total came out to just a little over $30. Everything was on real plates and silverware. Note: They do not have the large fountain drinks.

Please note that Hungry Bear doesn't list them on the menu, but they do offer regular fries upon request, I do not know about this new restaurant, I didn't ask, as I can't stand Disneyland's new fries, so the sweet potato fries are definitely very welcome.

We stopped in at Trader Sam's, not to get anything. I found it interesting to see that in addition to the bar that there are also tables. There is not a lot on the menu, but it does look interesting enough to give it a try sometime and I definitely like that there are unique nonalcoholic choices, as we don't drink and virtually all of these are the same throughout Disneyland.

And now for what everyone has been waiting for, pictures in no particular order (sorry about the quality, we forgot the camera, so had to use our phone):

We visited last night with friends and family. We ordered just about everything one the menu, so a blog should be going up soon with lots of details and pictures. As soon as it posts, Leah or I will start a thread to let you know. Stay tuned...

I take back what I said. I saw cmwade's post and the Culinary Quest blog and everything looks delicious and is a welcome addition to the resort.

what the heck is a grilled cinnamon oatmeal cake? somebody go order and take a picture! I am so curious! :rotfl:
I didn't order it, but I asked about it yesterday - it's oatmeal that's very lightly grilled on the outside, but it's still soft inside. She said it was fairly sweet.

me too. I don't see why they can't offer both. I too must have regular fries with my burger. Oh well, the panko chicken and rice sounds good.

Can anyone tell me the average price of the desserts that are in the case? What else is in the case? Do they have deli sandwiches?

Thanks so much for all the info, I can't wait to eat there on our next trip! Really looking forward to being able to go downstairs and get a faster service hot breakfast. :)
