Anyone have the Flip Video camera?

Does anyone here have the Flip Video Camera?

Do you like it?

Thinking of getting one for DH for Fathers Day....

I have one. It is not as good as I thought.

Zoom is terrible. The quality of video is not that high. You need good lighting.

However, it is very easy to use. The kids enjoy using it.

IF he already has a digital camera (point and shoot) that takes videos.. that will probably take better quality. If he as a DSLR, that doesn't take videos, he would probably like it, to take impromptu videos.

I personally got it because I upgraded to a DSLR. But, found I'd rather take my point and shoot with me, for those quick impromptu videos, even though it's bigger and bulkier.

If I had it to do again, I would not get one.

I just though I would add that my family loves are flip! I dont think the pic qulity is that bad, we watch are videos on are big screen and it realy doesnt look that bad for such a small video camera! It takes better video then my new nikon camera for sure. We take it on vacation with us and we end up getting way more videos then we ever would with a bigger video camera. It easy to use, its small, the video quality is good enough for are taste, we realy like are flip! I guess it just depends on the person if you will like it or not!

We hardly take videos anymore and I figured the small size might make us more likely to use it.... so imperfect video may be better than no video at all...

We love our flip. I carry it in my purse so I tend to take more video now than I ever did. It is also really easy to email the video to grandparents that are out of state.

So many memories I'm able to capture so easily! I would never carry around a camera every day - the flip is in my purse all the time

We ended up getting a Mino HD a few weeks ago for an upcomeing trip though. I havent tryied it out yet but Im exited to.

I'm glad others chimed in. I thought I might be in the minority, not enjoying it.

I already carry a camera with me, most everywhere I go, so the size wasn't *that* big of a convenience for me. My point and shoot takes great quality videos, and I can zoom in 12x, without losing quality. The flip is more of a novelty item for me, something the kids have fun running around with.

I think if you don't already take videos.. this would probably be a good thing. I was already taking short videos.. and I thought the flip would make it *even* easier.

We bought it for my son's birthday. He uses it for silly things like his Youtube videos and such like that.
