Anyone have Thanksgiving reservations for Fort Wilderness and not going to use them now? We just got a new motorhome and want to visit, but they are already sold out....

Just wondering if I could pick up someones reservation - maybe the price of gas has someone staying home....???? :moped:

Hey, a girl can try cant she?
thanks

Unless someone corrects me you can't transfer FW ressies like you can dining reservations. Best thing to do is old call, call, call and be persistent.

Yeah, I was afraid of that, but I also thought we might be able to get them on a 3-way call and drop it from one persons reservation and immediately add it to mine...

play with the dates too. We had to book a few weeks to get thanksgiving... when it gets closer I will call and cancel the days we don't need.

keep calling, every day...you will get in, but you have to be really patient because that is a really busy weekend...you can do it though...

we all have been there...

We too are needing to add Thanksgiving weekend. We have the 20-25th, but need 26-29th to finish the week. I plan on checking every morning. With some luck I believe we will get the extra dates. Good luck to others in the same boat.

Many have had luck with the early AM calls, but we also got some holiday dates last year later in the day like at 8PM EST after folks evidently on the east coast canceled during the day. Maybe an early AM and late PM call each day might work.

Keep calling, and check online. It took me about two months but I was able to add to our ressies at Thanksgiving. You will get it be persistent.

Thanks everyone for the replies... I originally just booked the two days I could get and have since added at character dining, a Hoop De Doo reservation and added two more days to my stay at FW...

So, no one give up - just keep calling! Persistence pays off.

Nope, the reservation system won't work like that. It can take hours for the reservation to become "available" in the system.

I agree with the advice to call often.

The reservation system at WDW is a pain, but I have always been able to get in to the Fort.

The last two years, we spent Thanksgiving week at the Fort. I didn't even start to make reservations until maybe September.

When you call, try for the whole period you are looking for. If they can't give it to you, ask them to check for parts. Thanksgiving week, you can usually get Sun-Wed without a problem. Book that. Then, when you call again, check on the dates you need. I have always been able to piece a reservation together. I suspect it will be easier this year, unless gas prices come down.

Good luck.
