Need a cute or sweet message for 5th grade daughter's yearbook.

At a total loss - brain is only coming up with "Congratulations "x", we're so proud of you."

Blech...

Any suggestions would be sooo appreciated! Going into jr. high, love to sing and the theater just fyi...

I've stuck with quotes from others. Sorry, drawing blank right now -- I usually do them on my computer but I didn't this year.

I know I've used the line from the book Love you Forever (which may be too babyish).

Try looking at some quote website for ideas -- this may help some.

In my HS year book (now almost 20 years ago), my mother put a picture of me as a two-year-old talking on the phone with the following poem (of sorts):

Emma'smom is never alone
Her best friend is always her phone
She learned how to dial, before she could smile
..and her favorite sound is "touch tone".

Congratulations on 18 years of good conversation!
We're so proud of you!

Well...it was different....and I thought it was cute. It did stand out on the page from all of the other messages from parents that were so similar...

How about Congratulations DD!! You're one year closer to getting a job!!

I'm j/k. I don't have anything profound to add.

But I did want to wish you good luck, since it's so hard to say something that's not trite, that's not already been said a million times.

does she have a fav show/musical.....you could use lyrics..

like...from High School Musical

"Soarin' ... Flyin'.... There's not a star in heaven that you can't reach...." Have fun in JR. high Suzie!!!

Thanks everyone! You gave me some ideas and made me smile! Love the 1 year closer to getting a job! :rotfl2:

My DD is a big theater buff. Her yearbook salute read:
"Atitude Determines Altitude
Defy Gravity"

Oh my gosh! I LOVE that! So creative!

She's currently into Legally Blonde so here's what I found from it:

"A girl sweet as you has a future. You have hope as each new day dawns. Girls like you always get to see Ireland. Give my love to the leprechauns!"

Is that too strange? I know she'll know it's from her fav. show and character, but don't want it to be too wacko for everyone else to read!

"be like the bird that, pausing in her flight awhile on boughs too slight, feels them give way beneath her, and yet sings, knowing that she hath wings".

I don't think it's strange at all for a 'theater' kid. But it might be a little long. Because ours was shorter, we were able to put it in a bigger font and it really stood out !

My DD is heavily into theater and singing, also! In fact, she wants to be a high school drama teacher, who acts on the side! She's a little older, and we've never had the opportunity to do the yearbook quote thing, but I just love what I had engraved for her on a silver heart-shaped box for her "sweet sixteen" last summer. Of course, we're all Disney fans, too!

"If you can dream it, you can do it."

:)

No, really - here are a couple I found when I googled

"For every ending
there's a new beginning;

for every memory,
there's a dream ahead."

The happy times you've had so far,
The people you have met
Will always be a part of life
You'll never quite forget...

But ever better, brighter days
Are waiting just for you,

So dream your dreams...
and start in now

To make them all come true!

Really nice ones, thank you!

Love this one too. Short but sweet! :thumbsup2

For my 3 girls 5th grade yearbook we typed their names vertically with an adjective that described them.

Wasn't too fancy or dramatic but hey, they're only in 5th grade. I'll save the good stuff for HS. ;)

In my HS yearbook my parents left a funny anecdote. Something like, "Who would have thought that our little Mowgli would have grown into a civilized human being?" (I can't remember the exact words.) There was a picture of my when I was a little girl looking WILD wearing only a diaper and crazy hair.
