i spent my birthday at the funeral home for arrangements.

I was devastated when Nipsey Russle died on my birthday

Two years ago my aunt passed away on dd's birthday and last year my grandfather passed away on her birthday. It was in July and she still talks about it. Yesterday she said she wanted to celebrate early this year because she thinks her birthday is cursed? Ugh that got me right in the gut Anyone have this happen and what did you tell them? She is 9 and also pretty sensitive. I told her her great grandfather would not have wanted her to think of her birthday as anything but special but it isn't working. Thanks.

My Mom passed away 2 days before our youngest turned 2. Funeral was to be on my ds's birthday, but I told my sis's and brothers, no way, and they agreed to wait another day. It was always hard for us, but he didn't remember it. As he was so small, I didn't have to face the questions that you are.

....no doubt. Must have been absolutely heart-wrenching.

It was the other way around for me. My son died shortly after birth and then my oldest granddaughter was born on the same day but 14 yrs. later.

My grandma died on my niece's 5th birthday. My brother and his ex were worried about telling her. But her reaction was priceless! "You mean Grammy got to go to heaven on my birthday? " Only a child could think so innocently!

My mom's funeral was on my brother's birthday. The strange thing is she had already bought his birthday card and it said "To OUR Son on His Birthday" (my dad had already passed away).

I would tell her birthday is special and that people die and are born every day even on her birthday. That is just life sometimes its sad and sometimes its happy.

If she wants to change the day let her. Its not cursed it more then likely just makes her sad.

awe poor mom, you baby is growing up and is starting to really see life has an end for everyone.
