You do realize you have to have some ties to the military to use USAA, right?

I can't get my eligibility application to go via the internet but I served four years in the Army so I may be ok.

Yep, we use them too. DH has used them for years and made me switch all my stuff to his policy. Haven't had a problem yet!

YUP! When I was getting a quote from a competator for Home Owners he asked who I was with. I told him and he said, "I can't touch them Don't ever change if you can." Made me feel good.

Are you still active? I believe that you have to be active or retired to be eligible.

Yep! They are by far the lowest quote we had, plus they were very good when DH hit a deer.

Have had USAA for years. They used to be such a good deal, great rates, and excellent service. The service is still good, but their rates (depending on where you live), have really shot up. If it's a home owners policy, best check around. They get hit hard during hurricane season because so many military personnel live on the Eastern seaboard as a result their rates have really gone up.

Yes Bob there is the third option ( I'm saying this as I laugh because I thought about it after I hit the post button).

You have to be a dependant of an active or retired person. I also think that you have to be under 18 yrs or a full time student under 23 yrs when you are added to or spun off the policy.

Gotcha -- I wasn't thinking about dependants when I posted, I guess.

That's how we're on USAA -- DW was on her parent's policy when she was in high school and she spun off on her own when she graduated college.
