Anyone have Insurance with USAA

Ok I think everyone needs to take a deep breath here. This thread is about USAA insurance not whether enlisted men or officers get into more trouble. Unless someone can come up with some hard numbers from a trusted source it doesn't mean much anyway

My gosh people get so defensive on internet boards!

I know exactly what he is meaning about enlisted men/women... when they started accepting them, USAA told *US* flat out that because they were going to start covering 18 yo guys (specifically), that they were going to get much more strict on their coverage, and boot people off it ALOT faster... when they were only doing officers (which are NOT 18 yo young adults), things were diff. There IS a risk when covering teenagers, and every car insurance company in the world realizes that, and so does USAA. NOTHING against enlisted men or women or anything liek that - just based on statistical information.

Geez.

Going back to another post about VALUE, I have to agree completely... I could care less if their rates are MUCH higher than other companies, the service and value I have gotten from them (and my family has for generations) is uncomparable to others. The piece of mind we have knowing our insurance company is who they are is worth more than a few bucks saved. We have our renters, car, credit cards, and jewelry through them now, and plan to buy a home using their mortgage and buying program, and homeowners insurance. I have had several issues in which they were incredible in handling (including being sued over a personal injury accident, they made it go away!) Top notch in my book!

I just realized my mistake. I never specified junior enlisted. The mid-level and senior enlisted are like the officers--they have something to lose!

Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate it.

Well, even if you are only referring to the junior enlisted.

What about the junior officer (Lt.), who got drunk in Iraqi and
killed an enlisted guy while driving. First and foremost, their is no drinking in the desert and defiantly driving while drunk is not somethning you do anyways. What would he be classified in, which group. It does not matter, it is good and bad in both
ranks. Yes, I still take offense because- I read your post as
you have done nothing wrong-and just want people to get of your but. I believe for everybody sake this should be a thread killer. Their is just no way out of this situation accept for closing the thread

Christine, please explain to GBsMom. You get it, she doesn't. Besides which, you make sense, and I'm still trying to figure out:
Yes, I still take offense because- I read your post as you have done nothing wrong-and just want people to get of your but.
Please read and understand the entire post before going off the deep end. Your interpretation of my statements is...almost creepy.

Those among us that are bad apples (O & E) deserve the punishment/Big Chicken Dinner they receive. Obviously there's a huge majority of us who get it right every day, otherwise turnover would be gargantuan. One of the many reasons why we're the best. Period.

In any case, back to the subject: USAA is not only well-priced in all the services it offers, it is the best value, with impeccable ethics. They took care of a frivolous lawsuit for us back in '95, even caught the guy in fraud. Their ethical behavior and committment to service means I trust them to pay on my claims. And the fact that they are highly rated means they should be able to pay, both now and the future, which is one of the most important considerations you should have when making these decisions.

OUT.

USAA is not just for military and their families. We have had USAA for over twenty years, my DH is a special agent with the Federal Govt.

Before this thread gets closed I will state my answer on the ORIGINAL QUESTION.
Yes, I have USAA and I am so glad to see this question because I just dropped GEICO whom I had had for 15 years for auto insurance. USAA was cheaper.
USAA was significantly cheaper for our homeowners insurance.
Just to give you an idea. I looked at my parents homeowners bills compared to mine. My parent's house is over $100,000 more than mine, they have a pool- I don't. They have replacement costs and much lower deductable them me- I do not have replacement costs. I could go on and on.
Bottom line is I have State Farm and they have USAA and we pay the SAME in premiums! BTW Both of us have never had a claim either.
The problem is my DH's DM's best friend is our State Farm agent. Gets kinda sticky to change.

It does not make since what you said, but I will let it go,
because I need to plan this trip and be done and bought
for my 120 deployment. see you around the board
