We're thinking about a trip to DL the second or third week in October... Anyone have any info on whether its crowded around that time or know if any major rides will be closed? I would hate to show up and find that it was some major convention or find rides closed.

well more and more i see its crouded more then i though the week were going but it will still be fine id say go after the 12th seems like alot are going like my dates 6-12 its supose to be a good week and may still be but it might be busy to

Disneyland's website and mouseplanet usually have a good list of what is closed. I believe Small World is one that for sure will be closed.

Our last two trips have been the 2nd or 3rd week of October. We use to do Mid-December but the last time we were there in Dec the final Friday was packed. Not a happy way to end the trip.

We do miss the holiday decorations - but they are more and more with Fall/Halloween decorations every year. The crowds have been fine for us in October. We usually do 3 or 4 days beginning with a Sunday - so we avoid the bulk of the weekend crowds.

We are planning on going in October again this year.

Last year was our first October trip. It was great. We went mid-week, mid-October. Crowds were not bad at all. During the day I wore tanks and capris and flip-flops, in the morning and some nights, I had on a very light sweater. Actually, come to think of it, I think it was just for 1 morning that started off chilly. We are doing October again this year, although it is Halloween weekend, so I am sure it will be busy.

HTH!!:wizard:

I went on to disneyland.go.com to see what would be closed while we're going
to be there (which is Oct. 10th - 12th). According to the website The Hyperion
Theatre in DCA is going to be under refurbishment.. which means no Aladdin
musical.. boo :(. Also the Sun Wheel in DCA will be closed. I'm sad about this
because NostalgicDad really got me into the mood to take pics in DCA. Oh
well. In DL the only attraction that will be closed is It's A Small World. Other
than that, everything else will be fine.

I saw that too, my daughter is just heartbroken! We somehow missed Aladdin on our last trip and she loves that musical.

As far as October, I think the third and fourth weeks are the best, most fall breaks are over by then.

Its sad. I told my fiancee and he was verrry upset because we usually watch
the musical first to get into the disney magic mood. sigh. oh well.

I would keep checking back there, if I were you. I, too, am going in October and was so excited to see they had some October information up yesterday. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed they had NO listings for entertainment, fireworks, or parades and... NO park hours, either! They don't even have the actual October calendar on there, and the September one only lists park hours up through Sept. 27. I would keep checking back for updates.

Ah ha... so there is a Fall break for schools in California... would anyone happen to know when those breaks are?

You are most welcome. :) I absolutely LOVE your screenname, too. I recently watched "Monster's, Inc." for the first time since it came out, and laughed even harder than the first time I saw it.

Utah schools fall break is Oct. 11-15 this year and it seems like everyone and their best friend go that weekend. We went that weekend 2 years ago and will never go again. DL was very crowded and hard to maneuver, we spent a lot of time in DCA. So we are trying early Dec. this year. We did love, love, love the Halloween decorations, but didn't know about the trick or treat thing at DCA. I found the DIS at a later time. :sad2:

Actually the Only Utah schools that are out on those dates are the year round schools; they are out from Oct 11-Oct26. The Utah schools most of which are on a 9 month calendar are in session on the 13-15, then they are off on the 16-20.

But then again, It hasn't been that busy this summer so unless gas prices come down I wouldn't expect it to be that busy this fall either! ;)

Thanks SO much :) I'm obsessed with Mike. He's my favorite character right now!
I just love pixar films. I'm so glad you watched and cracked up so hard ! I did
the first time I watched it, I loved how funny Billy Crystal is. He's hilarious!
