I do think they are expanding on that a bit.... still making stuff towards kids (Skeleton Crew) but also more adult (Andor).Honestly, Star Wars movies are basically live action cartoons anyway. As I often say, the movies are for 8 year olds!
Saw your post this morning....and then spent next couple hours watching those 4 final episodes of Clone Wars, and the last 2 of Ahsoka's Jedi story....they are SO, so very good. Until Andor, the animated stories had some of the darkest, deadliest SW content.
ooof I remember seeing those for the first time. Heart break for sure, underestimated how much Kleenex I'd need... and reliving RotS. It's so genius the way they incorporated all of it.ooof I remember seeing those for the first time. I was so happy Ahsoka was back with the group and then WHAM BAM..... heart break
George was shooting for 12 year olds I think, but you are not far off.Honestly, Star Wars movies are basically live action cartoons anyway. As I often say, the movies are for 8 year olds!

So hard to know where its all headed. Folks on the internet are getting better than Disney at SW AI. Luke does entire short stories now.
Yuck. I would not be excited for AI everything. That would be one way to turn me off new content. I also dont do You Tube really so not on my radar.
I would also expect those rogue SW content creators to be held to copyright eventually....

so if I understood the article correctly.... TWDC has partnered to provided some characters for people to be able to use in a limited capacity to create short content using some app called Sora?See article from The Wrap (which is a trade mag and something I would consider a better source than others -- although I believe Variety and Hollywood Reporter have better sourcing than The Wrap, IMO).

I watched the ABC interview with David Muir and Iger & D'Amaro and D'Amaro commented about people at TWDC and CMs are what is most important. Actually, as CEO and with Dana Walden as CCO, what is more important than people is AI.
Sad.
Not once in the ABC interview did I hear D'Amaro talk about the most important thing about TWDC, its movies, its parks, etc. . . . story telling.
Again, sad.
So, as someone who has written a lot of fan fiction in my life, I'll answer this. It's fun. It's a hobby. And for me, it was a way to practice writing with a story and characters I knew and loved. I loved to write and had these stories in my head and needed to get them out. It was fun writing and posting stories, and I met a lot of friends in the process. Eventually, I did write original fiction, but guess what? It wasn't nearly as fun as writing fanfic.I've never really understood the "fan film" thing, AI or not. Some of them are really well done but I think, why put all that effort into creating something that you can't own or profit from? If some of them instead created something original, it could be very successful.
