Hoping to find some Disney magic on the budget board!:wizard: Budget is tight...always hate this time of year when I have to buy THREE costumes for my triplets boys. Anyone willing to sell their son's costume from last year for a good price? I'm hoping they won't be too picky this year and take some suggestions ;0)

have you tried some homemade ones? Family fun has great ideas that are not too expensive to do.

Last year my son was "Pie" and I made it out if felt-cheap and he loved it. I have also made "jetpacks" out of 2 liter soda bottles and duct tape, and we used current toys he had to make him a spy.

Do they have any ideas for things they would like to be that are not characters? Like Fire (wear all red, spike up hair and spray with red spray paint, and paint their faces red).

I saw a cute voting box they year of the election-a cardboard tray and one side had a hole for Obama and the other for McCain and people would "vote" with their candy. Each side had a plastic bag to catch the candy. You could do a similar thing for sports rivalries (like here Steelers/Ravens would be a good one).

Do you have a Nerf hoop? They could wear a basketball jersey or referee shirt (get a white t-shirt and use black duct tape to make lines) and the hoop pinned to their shirts-the people could throw candy in the hoop.

No real help to you, but thinking of 3 boys I had all kinds of cute "theme's" pop in my head.

Make iron-on transfer of the jelly-belly logo and put on 3 different color t-s with matching colored sweatpants/longjohn's or whatever and they could be jelly-beans. Or M&M's! Even cooler! and for the M&M logo you could make your own M cut out and craft paint it on a shirt.

Wear all green and be 3 peas in a pod! (make a pod with a green sheet). Thinking on this, probably not cool for 8 year olds!

Dress them up like Larry, Mo & Curly (which I HATE, but it's something in 3's).

If they like super-heroes they could be the 3 stages of the Hulk. One in regular clothes as whatever his name is, one slightly green with tighter clothes (growing boys always have clothes that are too small for them :thumbsup2) and the third one green with ripped clothes.

Good luck!

I was just at JoAnn Fabrics yesterday and they had a free flyer thing that showed a few costumes that were made using capes. They looked really easy to make.

This isn't the flyer ideas I mentioned above, but its a video showing how to make a simple cape out of fleece. Plus it shows a few variations like a bat cape.

This is an interesting video on how to make a superhero cape out of a dollar store plastic disposable tablecloth. I don't exactly like how she randomly taped the superhero logo on the cape (maybe glue it or tape it nicely???). But you could easily make 3 capes for your boys (batman, superman, spiderman, etc.) for $3!

I have 2 girls, so I don't have costumes that your boys would like or else I would send you some.
